Wouldn't it be easier to split '911' into 996, 993, 964 etc?

Will do. Let's hope most owners know which one they've got!

Only point I'd raise, if we go down this route, hadnt we better have S1 & S2 Elises, Chimaera 4.0, 4.3/4.5 and 5.0?

Both have vast amounts of cars in that could be segmented

I'd leave it as it is for now.

I've also had requests to break these down as they are getting unwieldy.

may i ask your reasons?

The reason i bought this up is if someone is looking for a 964 they've got to go through dozens and dozens of 996s, and 993s etc.

It would make things a lot clearer.

The Chimaera classifieds are huge as well, but if i was looking for a Chim i don't think id worry whether it was a 4litre or a 4.5litre... or do others think differently?

964 vs 996 is a very different car though

Because I check the 911s for sell on PH every few days and it is easier to check one group than 5 or six. Many people swap between different age 911s, not necessarily buying the shape they set out to buy, so why not see all of them in one grouping and maintain the ability to search all of them them on a price basis in one search?

If it were absolutely necessary to split the 911 section up I would suggest a more useful structure for buyers would be: GT/RS/CS, Turbo, C2/C4 Coupe, C2/C4 Cabrio.

Fair point. Perhaps making the price search more accurate/obvious would be a better way to start.

Or what about a drop down menu with "show only 993/964/996/GT/RS/cabs" etc?
