How long does one have to be a member for granddad rights!? I've had a login since year dot (forgotten it though), not sure if you can tell which one it is from there though. Anyway, just slung up and ad (ref 3098098) for approval.

As I understand it, it's like tax-exempt status on road cars - it's a hard date not a rolling date. When paid adverts were introduced, those of us who were already members (and had free adverts) have always continued to have free adverts.

If you have a login from that time, you'd probably need to recover it and get it reactivated. But I'm just speaking as a layperson and have no official capacity at PH (as in, I'm just guessing!).

I don't seem to be able to log into the classifieds with my username and password any more, can you shed some light on the situation please?

The situation is that you now need to pay for something that is now inferior to AT and ebay where once it was far superior to either.

Yeah, the advert section here is now hopeless. Though I doubt PH would release their data, which would probably show a considerable decline in usage.

I had an email yesterday saying PH are merging the advert and forum usernames so you can log in to the classifieds with your forum ID. Could be that?

We haven't pushed that merge out yet, so everything should be working as normal. Did this only happen yesterday/today and you could get in with no problems earlier in the week?

Pete, I haven't logged into the classifieds for some time.
The last time I did, I'm sure I used the same username and email address as I do for the forums.
Do you see anything wrong in the background?

I'm told my email address isn't recognised when trying a password reset.

All looks fine and the same in the backend, though obviously I can't see the passwords. The email is your hotmail one.

Can anyone remind me when the "grandfather rights" cut off is? I've been around a while, and definitely remember the adverts being free, but I don't think I ever posted one, not sure whether I have the rights or not?

Yes, that one - we are migrating across tonight all users and going live with our new system - so in the morning it will be linked up better and will probably work straight out of the box.... fingers crossed.

I could swear the website said I had free listings after the merge last week - now it says £11.99. Could you investigate please?
