When I log-in to the forums I use the drop down menu to select 'New since last visit'. This morning it is telling me that there is nothing new since my last visit. Which stands to reason as it is showing the last visit as taking place at the current time. Does that make sense? Its almost as if I had logged in, out and back in again.

Is is just me? It's happening on both of my 'puters, so wouldn't thought so.

Picture attached to show what I mean, last visit time = the time I've logged in.

Same is happening to me. It's happened a couple of times before, but today is pretty much every time I press What's New.

With me some forums which have new posts in them have the new posts in thread "Red folders", like this Forum, P&P and some others but the General Gassing, Photography & Video and General TVR forums although also having new posts has all yellow "no new post" Folders displayed.

For a translation of the above gibberish please go to http://babelfish.altavista.com/tr/

Probably some behind the scenes

I've seen this happen. I must confess I just hit the 'last 3 hours' link as I've not got to the bottom of it yet.

This is happening to me too. Every hour or so the 'Welcome back' clock resets to present time even if I'm active. Very odd.

Mine seems to alternate. Some times long list displayed, some times a few items. Plus, I'm fairly sure that when I vist a post, and then return to what's new, the screen displayed is a previous one?

Yep, definitely alternating between "2" what's new screens.

Yes, took mine a while to do it but definitely alternating between two. Nether represent the true last visit time though.

This is happening to me too. The "last 3 hours" button is ok as a work-round but it's a bit annoying. Rich...

Has gone wierd for me this afternoon - nothing at all showing as "new" in Gassing Home when I return a couple of hours after last visit.

Ditto.

Same on Mozilla / IE6, 3 different machines.

Still, the site is running like a good 'un. Is it a ying and yang thing?

Its something that I've always noticed from time to time.
Does seem a bit more common ATM though.

Don't know if this helps, but I'm now getting random "what's new since" times. For example, it says it's telling me what's new since 17.02. The first time I logged in today was about 18.09,

Good man.

This happens every time to me.

A useful bit of info may be that when I hit the front page of PH on my home machine which has sound turned on I hear two "clicks" of the mouse.

If you are firing some onClick events around I'd run through that code to see if any of it could call the "Last Visited" routine.

A new IE has been sent out recently which could explain the change in behaviour...

Hi Don,

The two clicks thing is the page forwarding if it detects that you've got a screen area larger than 800x600.

This problem is something to do with cookies
