Log-in and Recent Visit Problem

It seems a bit hit and miss, but I just noticed that when "what's new" gave me what's new since ten seconds ago, hitting "what's new" again then gave me a sensible answer.

Yep, I noticed that too. That's a significant clue. Will get back onto this shortly.

Possibly related - When viewing the Gassing Station, the "new" markers are no longer appearing (for me, anyway).

In the past, this would just be because I wasn't logged in but now I'm definately logged in and viewing my filtered list of fora.

Seems quite consistent over the past couple of days.

I'm also having this issue on both my home PC and my laptop (both running Firefox 1.0).

It seems that whilst the red "new post" markers don't appear on the forum select screen, they do appear in the thread list for the first forum I read. They then seem to disappear again if I go back to the main screen and go into a different forum. Whilst the "last post" times next to the thread titles appear valid, there's no red folder next to the thread title, and no blue bar showing last post read.

Edited to add: clearing cookies and the browser cache appears to have no effect on the problem.

Remember the time is measured at Pistonheads server not on your PC, I expect the clocks are a couple of minutes adrift.
