Must admit, the pale blue colour does make things a little more difficult to read.
What is this pale blue colour you're referring to? On desktop it's all white and light grey alternating post backgrounds with black lettering. The only (dark) blue (I have no pale blue anywhere) on my screen is the small amount as the header background and the forum title font.

confused

edit: the background to my own posts is pale blue, but that's all.
Poster's name on the left is pale blue?

Well this is one way to go I suppose.....

It's like a design for "My First Forum" written in Basic. It's very nostalgic.

That's the nicest things I can think to say right now. Oh, hang on! You've fixed it so that it finally shows what I've visited which is a BIG improvement so take a pat on the back for that, even if it was already working for the last decade on Classic.

Lets call it Retro and we can claim it's meant to look like this and you didn't get a colour blind 4 year old with some crayons to design it.

Never fail to be surprised by this place.

This change was long, long overdue. Massive improvement over the ancient 90s style horror show we've had for all these years.

It needs work though - line spacing is an obvious issue, as is some of the quoting formatting and fonts as others have mentioned.

Dire.

Is there an option to revert to the previous "look"?

I quite like it. Pretty clean. Few tweaks needed.

Who on earth signed off on pale blue over grey and white, and slightly darker grey over grey and white for the colour scheme?

It's so bad, it's almost as if they don't actually possess eyes themselves - just thought it was cool and hip to pastelise everything.

https://www.w3.org/TR/AERT#color-contrast

http://webaim.org/blog/wcag-2-0-and-link-colors/

With the blue on grey, and blue on white - you're probably just about scraping a contrast ratio of 3.

Inverting grey over blue and white over blue is fine, that stands out - but whoever signed off on the help/smilies/rules/username display/post count/login/logout text needs to revisit and adjust as it could cause eye strain, and on a predominantly text based medium - that's not a good thing.

Also, the pale blue wash for 'your posts' causes the default HTML links above to lose contrast, making them harder to see (although being the links I put up, it's not that big a deal however it still needs looking at imo)

Nope. Dark blue.
On mine, the normal blue stuff is still blue but quite washed out.

Google chrome on OSX.

I might try clearing cookies and trying that.

Edit: Nope, still the same for me.

Yes . that's the issue.

The ONE thing people generally agreed on, on Desktop site was fine.
Now it looks naff.

I can get used to it.

but PLEASE CHANGE THE QUOTING BACK TO THE OLD WAY.
The bubbles are very ghey, unreadablle.
yes this, pleeeease!
Ironically where you have quoted me, the quote is broken laugh No lines around it.
In the name of the wee man, get rid of the 'my first forum' speechbubbles, they're awful. The way quotes worked before the imposition of GTI was clear, unambiguous and looked fine.

Oh dear, just when you think it can't get any worse. PH Techs surprise us.

Still not fixed the http image issue.

Anyone else think it's starting to look like Mumsnet with the pastel colours.
