Hello PHers and welcome to your new look forums!
Discussion
I see where you are going with this PH but lets face it, it still needs a shed load of work.
The fonts are a bit more consistent, although there is still a mish mash of sizes and std/bold. The colours are less of an improvement, pale blue is weak against some of the backgrounds.
In general colour is less of a success... there seems to be little consistency of through.
Take a look at facebook, and understand how they've delivered a clean interface not unlike that of the PH forums!

Take a look at the my stuff page below for example. You are indicating unread posts, in so many ways - background colour, bold text, folder icon, jump to page icon. It's like someone was given a list of options and said "yes, I'll take the lot!"
The followed links in purple is also redundant in this view - they are threads i've replied to, of course i've visited them! no need to highlight this here, unlike in the main whats new view.
I'm an engineer (mechanical, not software...) and I find this stuff obvious to spot. Is no-one speccing and testing what you are trying to achieve?

I gave up some time ago and just added my own tweaks. FWIW this is what mine looks like (yellow being unread).
"Go to New Posts" also is not working correctly.
Don't think I'll be back here for a while. It's just painful on the eyes and furthermore is awkward to use when navigation buttons don't work how they're supposed to. Shame, the opportunity was there to improve the appearance and ergonomics of this site and instead it has suffered from the apparently increasing tendency not to bother testing thoroughly enough (if at all). A very shoddy effort both in design and technical implementation and one which, being imposed dictatorially, is quite likely to alienate large numbers of long-time PH contributors.

Seems to be resizing posted images, my image is smaller than that, so link not embedded.

Look: quotations don't work properly any more either! <<<< THAT'S THE LINE I ADDED BUT IT LOOKS LIKE PART OF THE QUOTE!Don't think I'll be back here for a while. Well, that's an 8-bit GIF file, so of course it's going to look crap. What on earth did you use to make that?
Paint. On closer inspection I can see that it's dithered the image for some unaccountable reason. Ugh.Anyway not to worry, a bit of fettling at this end and now at least I have a readable font.
The annoying thing is that it was perfectly readable before AND there was a choice of skins. It's all a considerable step backwards IMO.

It's text of your own which is not quoting properly. They're obviously trying to do something to differentiate own quotes, and it's not quite working. Probably a quick tickle.
What was wrong with the old scheme where your quoted text was on the same blue background as your own posts?moosepig said:

They weren't skins though - they were pretty much completely separate websites onto the same database, which was a quite ludicrous (and unsustainable) situation. Yes, of course it should never have been allowed to have got into that situation in the first place, but that's the pickle that Haymarket found themselves in.
