Try it on chrome mobile requesting desktop site, genuinely makes my eyes hurt, and the mobile site is fking awful. It seems the idea of "fixing" this page is to just keep stabbing blindly in the dark hoping it will work and they'll get it right, when really it was right to start with.
What a complete and utter fking mess.
I'm taking a break from measuring General Arrangements and engineering drawings for a new development, switching between PDFs on a Macbook with retina display and a horrid work Toshiba laptop with terrible resolution, which I'm using for Excel.
My eyes only started to hurt when I came on PistonHeads for a break.
Objectionable all round, really.

As I understand it, it's because the page is assembled on the server, and sent to your browser, and then some Javascript on the client side (ie. in your browser) then modifies that to alter the formatting on one's own posts (or quotations of one's posts), and they haven't got that right yet. I guess it's so they don't have to render a different page for every user - the user-specific formatting is done on the user's device. ClockworkCupcake said:
As an aside, this fresh round of outrage, and new posters to this thread, seems to imply that maybe some people were indeed happily using the GTI "skin" (sic) after all and perhaps this is the first time they have seen anything different and worth complaining about.
This applies to me, I've been using the gti skin for as long as i can remember. It wasn't great web design or particularly slick and modern but at least it didn't make my eyes hurt.

I thought my computer was playing silly buggers earlier when I loaded Pistonheads. After finding this, I now know why! I've got pretty good eyesight and I have to be honest, it really hurts my eyes to use the forums. I'm going to sit and try to read all of the presumably logical reasons why its happened. I can't put my finger on exactly what it is, maybe the kerning is amiss?
