For heaven's sake, just make the ****ing text a bit darker will you!!!??!!! PALE BLUE ON GREY DOES NOT WORK.

I've been on this site since 2004 and it's never given me eye strain or headaches, until now that is.

Because of course, making demands of the staff while shouting and swearing is the best way to persuade people to assist.

Here's a thing....maybe the designers disagree with you. Or perhaps they're planning to do what you ask. Who knows? I can virtually guarantee that jumping in the air because whining, self-entitled forum members shout and swear at them won't be too high on the agenda. Even if they've been here since 1972.

What an eye opener this thread really is.

Nobody knows because there's no public facing bug tracking (is there even an internal one?) the communication is virtually nonexistent. Partly because even those whose job it is to communicate with forum users are being told not to yet there's no one else doing the job instead.

It's no wonder people are frustrated. Oh, and... designers? hehe

Well the abuse goes both ways, maybe if there was a shred of professionalism in the way changes were communicated, tested and implemented the community would have a different attitude.

^^^ This is not acceptable guys. As someone who is colourblind, I struggle to see the text against the background. I'm told that there are two different colours of text there too apparently. Damned if I can see them.

It's just good old incompetence if you ask me.

The concept of catering for disabled users (including colourblind users) on the web has been around since 1995, when the WCAG (web content accessibility guidelines) were first discussed. The guidelines have been refined over 20+ years, have been an ISO standard for the last 5 years now, and have been taught in every half-decent software engineering degree in the land for 20 years.

Having contrast between text and background colours, and generally using colour to convey information are both discussed in the standards.

Font has improved this morning. Positive.

Unnecessary 1990s-style hyperlink colouring and font weight still an issue for me.

...and what's going on with the dark colons here?

When clicking on a new thread I get sent to the last post with the last visit sash above it even though I've never seen the thread before. I used to get taken to the opening post previously? Something changed?

Using mobile on iPhone.
I'm getting this, even on a desktop version, but definitely happening on the Android / Chrome environment I use out and about.

Me-no-like.

PALE BLUE ON GREY DOES NOT WORK.

I've been on this site for many years now and it's never given me eye strain or headaches, until now that is.

Please also return to the same font and spacing as hitherto, whilst you're at it!

Quoting posts is buggered again.
I tried to quote a post with multiple quotes in it, and got effectively "quote all"
Android mobile, using both Chrome and Opera Mini.

Hot tip: Opera Mini on Android blocks ads out of the box!

Its not easy having a point to raise without being told i'm ether moaning, hard of seeing or using a crap monitor, and It's not a big issue but shouldn't topics automatically change their position from bookmarks to my stuff once replied to?

That's actually slightly unfair - do you not think?

So they aren't going to explain why they've made this site harder to read ?

I logged on in the hope that we might have some sort of response. I honestly have no idea why PH are making this so difficult for themselves.

At the very least put an install on a test server, let some users play with it and provide feedback, then tear it down.

I still think they are on a hiding to nothing pursuing a rapidly ageing codebase and spending time "fixing" it.

And how many responses have there been on this thread with regard to the multiple issues being raised?
