I'd like to be taken to the first post of a new thread rather than the last post. It's getting tiresome having to scroll back pages to read p1 of a thread I've not read before.

This is the reason why, for the past 16+ years, I've read PH upside-down. I have posts set to display in Descending order, rather than Ascending order. So the first post of a thread is the latest. It's a bit odd, and a bit of a crap workaround, but I've kind of got used to it over the years.
Edit: Christ, has it really been 16+ years?!

These days, a lot of my post count is from "live" threads like Formula 1, where you make a lot of short posts commenting on things as they unfold.

HM testing their supposedly massively improved interactive menu header to enable you to quick access other areas of the site and their news stories that normally everyone goes out of their way to avoid on the front page due to all the adverts.
If you reset your browser cache history and cookies and revisit the forum it should stop serving the header and the icons return as evidently they're currently serving it randomly to 50% of visitors.
Although on saying that, it took me 5 browser / cookies clears earlier before a version of the forum loaded with the original header and not the stupid new interactive one.
