As you've forced us to abandon the desktop site I thought I'd compile a quick list of incredibly basic errors which is stopping by me using your website;

1/ The icon list at the bottom of the page needs at least 2 touches to work.

2/ Same in the forum list, you touch a forum and nothing happens so have to touch it again.

3/ Last visit-I click on a brand new thread I've never read and it takes me to a post from 5 mins ago on the last page.

4/ Last visit again! I click on a thread I have read before and it dumps me on the first page. Presumably I am supposed to remember every thread I've ever read and the page I left it at?

5/ Classifieds Adverts. It loads in batches of fifteen, but there's nothing of interest until perhaps car number 100. I click the link and view the car. It looks ok but nothing special but wait! There's no back to list button, so I click back a page only to jump back to the first batch of 15 cars so I need to trawl through and reload each page. Give up and look on AutoTrader.

I consider each of these to be pretty basic functional errors but they have been going on for god knows how long? I wouldn't normally complain but now that desktop isn't viewable on mobiles I'm forced to use this terrible website should I wish to continue to use Pistonheads.

Which if I'm honest is stopping me. It's crap. On the one hand productivity at work has soared, on the other my morning abolutions are less interesting.

I could put up with mobiles glaring design issues if it simply worked but as listed above, it doesn't. I consider myself an active member of the forums, I give out advice when I can, write what I consider good content for others to read and most importantly I'm not against your need for advertising. But honestly, if you're losing your members like myself then I can't see PH lasting.

Which would be a terrific shame.

(Using iPhone 6S with up to date safari, not that it makes any difference.)

1 & 2 don't happen for me on Android/Chrome.

The jumping to last read not working is known about- i think Jack acknowledged they're working on it.

I can still use the desktop site on my phone. Doesn't your browser have a "request desktop site" option on the menus?

I get your issues 3 & 4, but also the "next" button and directly entering the page number sometimes don't work the first time.

Hi,

Thanks for posting such a detailed list, we appreciate the time you've taken to do it - helps us get to the bottom of things quicker.

3 & 4 are known issues which the dev team are are looking into. The others I will flag up and see if there is a solution!

Cheers!

Why is it taking so long to fix 3&4?

Because they don't really care?

Loads of people have complained about the issue on the "official" new look PH thread and it's been ignored. It makes the site almost unusable - if the thread is more than a couple of pages long it's just a PITA to try and get to the OP.

I agree that the last visit function is a pita .
Very little improvement over the old system if any ,lots of annoying changes that imho were not needed .

Also, in the My Stuff section, unless I'm being completely dim (always a possibility) do threads that I've started not show up in there?

Oh aye, that is me being dim then. Perhaps I could get a job in website development at PH Towers? biggrin

You post far too often for that - if you take the job there's a 1 post/month limit.
