They'll only fix it when they can devise a method of getting some income from it!
Okay, so if they don't fix it within a reasonable period of time e.g.another week, what are my options for hosting a blog for my car?If you are right, my opinion is it is very short sighted as Pistonheads has always been a site for ALL petrol heads. I have been a member from early on and way before Autocar bought the site. Not sure where to go and how to host a blog.... which is annoying.

Very annoying! I have been looking at blogger and wordpress. I haven't yet found one that offer an option to make historic dated entries; so that I can record the history of my car chronologically.
You can do it on blogger. You can either post 'as is' and it posts at the current time and date, or you can click the 'schedule' button and set either a past or future time and date of your own choosing and in will publish the blog post at that position in the your time line.Eta: click on 'new post', click 'schedule', click 'set time and date'. Done.
Right, I downloaded the Wordpress app and that plays nicely with my iMac.
https://caterhamsuperlight106.wordpress.com/ this is a work in progress so bear with me.
Bit of a post hijack (however, it is my post) can someone explain how Wordpress 'categories' work please?
I set up a category for each topic:
Full history
Service history
MOTs
Insurance
Repairs and mods etc etc
However it just list the title and then each category under each title. What I want is a list of categories so that anyone can interrogate the blog and obtain the information they are interested in (as long as it falls into one of my categories).

Maybe one of the developers is looking into it because it's got worse over the last few days. My theory being it would of remained the same if it's been untouched.
I presume we are all in the same mess but if you go to amend blog then your last entry made is the same for every entry you've ever made (Well it is on mine and wasn't like this a week ago)

The car profile and blog are still hopelessly broken.
Both still exhibit the bug whereby HTML formatting codes are escaped and then displayed verbatim.
So a line break gets converted to <br/> and then that is escaped to <br/> which then gets displayed as <br/> rather than a line break.
Likewise a [url] tag gets escaped to <a href="URL">text</a>

Oh, and whilst we're on the subject, if you try to edit your car blog, then all the figures are displayed in dollars and all entries have the same text (it looks like all entries are being propagated with the text of the most recent entry).
You have to guess which one you want to edit based on the date, then when you click 'edit' the fields are populated correctly and you can edit the entry.
