I am unable to find a forum for Lexus owners on PH.

Have I missed it?

If there is not one, then why not? Other marques, which are much smaller, have a forum, so why not Lexus?

Perhaps a moderator would kindly create one.

According to Autocar (December 2016) Lexus has increased its market share, and has a greater market share than the likes of:

Alfa Romeo
Porsche
Smart
Subaru

for example.

Kia have a pretty big market share too, I'd still rather have a Porsche

I agree. Porsche over Kia, anytime. Although, last year I was in South Korea and had a limo pickup from my hotel, which was a Kia. Not up to BMW or Mercedes standard, but impressive nonetheless.

However, my point is numbers of owners, and therefore numbers of PH members who might want to have a dedicated forum, as given to other marques with smaller numbers.

I hope I don't sound like I am fighting some cause. It would be nice to click on a single link, which took me to a forum where I could find all posts related to Lexus.

How you just got the Lexus?

Over 40 months and here and 3 posts. Not quite a record.

You seem to be the first person asking for it which imho means there isn't the demand and it would create even more clutter.

Perhaps I could be the second, then.

There are several fora not posted to since 2016 you could get rid of, if you're worried about clutter.

Completely disagree. PH is a niche website, and as such is very unlikely to reflect the wider car owner public. There will be a disproportionate number of people owning certain vehicles and as such you can't say "more people own a lexus than a porsche so there should be a dedicated lexus forum". I'm sure more people own a vauxhall corsa than a Ferrari but that's not what PH is about.

I have had the Lexus for almost three years. Correct, not many posts in the last 40 months, but a regular visitor and big fan of PH.

I am a regular contributor to a number of Lexus and Mercedes forums, both in the UK and the USA.

All forums start with the first request ;-)

I would not go as far as to 'completely disagree' with you in regard to PH being for 'niche' brands. I would say it is more for enthusiasts of all brands.

Just an observation, the 'niche brands' with their own forums on PH include:

BMW (General)
Minis
Alfa Romeo, Fiat & Lancia
Ford
Jaguar
Land Rover
Mercedes
Volvo
etc

With regard to the housekeeping of tidying up forums with little activity, I would leave that in the capable hands of the PH moderators.

I didn't say it's for niche brands, I said it's a niche website, i.e. the people who use it are a small subset of the general public (car enthusiasts as opposed to just people who cars). What car enthusiasts are interested in isn't necessarily reflected in the wider population. The best selling lawn mower probably isn't the most popular lawn mower amongst enthusiasts. The wider public often see cars as white goods, car enthusiasts don't, so just because something sells well to the general public doesn't mean it has a following amongst enthusiasts

Thanks for the support - I think wink

Seems a pity. I am confused about the suggestion by one member that this is a 'niche' site. Recent marketing research suggests that PH is probably the most popular motoring website in the UK. That means that it can't be 'niche'.

Oh well, unless a moderator intervenes, one of the brands which is acknowledged as one of the best on the market, will have to be just 'lumped together' with other Jap brands.

Last year Lexus sold 13,915 cars in the UK, slightly more than Porsche. Perhaps Porsche could be lumped together with all the other German brands?

I think I'll give up on this and stick to Lexus Owners Club (UK), who, like PH, run an excellent forum.

Hi all,

As others have said, I'm afraid because there is not sufficient demand and traffic we won't be creating a Lexus forum yet. This may change in the future if we get lots of requests, but for the time being, its a no.

Thank for the suggestion, though. smile
