I am currently having issues with chrome being laggy as a laggy thing, freezing with android asking me to kill it or wait. Often has several tabs open so it's been hard to pin down, but it think the cause is PH forum.
Site is also dog slow to load a page on works pc or my laptop too.

Installed adblock plus on Monday, yes, it is blocking a few on other sites, but most from this site. Current standing is 24,500 ads blocked.
And I have told it not to block ads on a couple of other sites - a few small choice ads are fine, that is what pays for the site. - but a grinning lady telling me to look my name up on a free PPI checker gets me..

t about their dreadful adverts but I'm not wasting data or bandwidth on that rubbish.

As mentioned on previous threads the laggy / freezing, etc, behaviour is being caused by all the adverts loading on a page at once. If the adverts are a big size, contain scripts, flash based content, etc, and all try loading at the same time then you're buggered - especially if the same advert tries to load in both the 2 x top, 1 x bottom and 1 x side slot on a thread (which as i found pre-adblock happened most of the time).Site is also dog slow to load a page on works pc or my laptop too.

A number of users, including myself, also noted that the new masthead at the top of the page, with the interactive drop down menus, also increased load time. The problem went away when PH pulled it last year after testing, but soon came back when they introduced it a month or 2 back.
Since then i gave up trying to view PH on any browser without adblocking as it was impossible. Currently been running Chrome for over a month now, with a combination of a couple of suggestions for adblockers on this forum, and PH is a joy to use again with no ads, sponsored content, antivirus warnings about scripts embedded in adverts, etc.

Adblock does that on one of my laptops running Windows 10, you get a page total and a running total and the last time I checked the running total was nearly as high as Eric's post count.I checked the number, then opened a new thread on here then checked again. 12 ads, on one thread.
It is normally about 9 or 10 ads per page.

Yep, I only use Brave for surfing PH and by the end of the day yesterday it had blocked over 1000 adverts and scripts. I only installed it that afternoon. I checked the number, then opened a new thread on here then checked again. 12 ads, on one thread.
