Dev team...

It's good to see that despite the state of the site, the members still retain their sense of humour.

There's a good response from the powers that be on a GDPR question thread too.

There is more chance of getting noshed off by the queen.

What about Kate or Meghan?

I'm prepared to wait.

Someone said you can click the blue arrow by the ads to open a menu but that’s just to stop the sponsored ads tracking you.

It really is terrible.

People want the site to keep going but this sponsored content is going to make more people use ad blockers.

If it’s just about surviving and making money to keep going, why not just set up a just giving page or have a bar along the bottom of each page with a monthly/yearly donation target?

Brave does a good job of blocking, too.

Another IOS user here with AdBlock Plus both on the Mac and iPhone. The Sponsored Contents is still showing on my phone and there's nothing I can do to block it. Very annoying.

Brave app on iPhone - just presented with a grey box at the bottom of the page. That's ok, for me.

It gets past Opera's ad blocker too, but as it's at the bottom of the page and doesn't push the content down, I don't really mind it.

I don't know how to add ad block to chrome on my phone or tablet, only seem to be able to find a separate ad block browser...

uBlock Origin catches it fine, if it wasn't for this thread I would be none the wiser.

Blocks around 16 items on the average Pistonheads forum page.

Android? Try Firefox, most of the desktop add-ons work on mobile.

Any idea how much extra mobile data these awful, chavvy, low class adverts suck up?

Hi all,

Sorry for the delay in replying - I'm just waiting to hear back on if we can get rid of it. It's certainly very spammy so I'll be surprised if it stays!

Thanks for flagging it up everyone.

I really enjoy this forum but I'd have to stop looking at it during working hours if these ads don't go!
