Well that was an ironic moment. Guess what presumably targeted ad popped up this morning, an ad for ad blockers. spin

I had adblocker on my laptop but hadn’t blocked every single element on here, but now I have spent the time to do so, and also remove all ads on my phone too.
So as already mentioned, all they’ve done is made more people block them laugh

I added "pistonheads.com##.qc-cmp-persistent-link" and it seems to have done the trick.

Adblock > Block Element

I installed Brave on my phone about a week ago, have only used it to browse PH, and haven't really been on here that much in that time.
So far it's blocked 374 trackers and 586 adverts. yikes
Well done on annoying people so much you're killing off your own revenue stream PH rolleyes

So this morning i log on via chrome on desktop and am presented with the largest, ugliest "we care about your privacy" bks.

Despite being logged in, updated before every fking thing is re-enabled!?

Someone was mentioning making an official note to the governing body, i forget what they're called now? Did they follow through?

Sounds like Brave is inflating numbers (counting same ones on each incident rather than once?) to make its users get attached!

And you do know Brave was launched to make money from Advertising right? Instead of Pistonheads putting adverts, they want to put their own instead...

Stick to Firefox or Safari with open source blocker (ublock origin, Umatrix etc) . Brave has investors who need to get paid wink as do the other commercial browser companies.

Yes, but at the moment, apple are seeking to differentiating themselves from Android on privacy.

It's a business strategy to that makes sense for them and one that aligns with my needs so a 'win-win' as business folk like to say.

Ublock origin works fine with safari on Mac.

Maybe so, but installing a separate browser just for one forum is daft. AdGuard does the job well enough and so does safari for that matter

Yes, but strangely it doesn't show me any ads at all. Only put it on as a temporary measure until I figure out how to block them properly on chrome on android.

Is anyone else getting the bottom bar twice the height now on iOS?

Repeat earlier comments from various above, including, if you just want us to ps off and go somewhere else just say so and shut it down.

Even May and her cabinet could do a better job. FFS, useless.
