Oh, wait, it’s all free anyway. You lot do make me smile sometimes.
With 952 posts in 65 months, I doubt you're that invested in the forums anyway so it is less likely to annoy you than, say, people who post regularly. Oh, wait, it’s all free anyway. You lot do make me smile sometimes.
I’ll keep my beak out on your forum eh?

I really wish someone responsible for this stuff would reply to explain what's going on. It seems like the moderators are as clueless as the rest of us which isn't confidence inspiring.
The mods are not in the employ of HM and I imagine are as bewildered as the rest of usThere is no development budget for PH IIRC so this is being done on a shoestring and is more of a maintenance thing than anything, I assume they are trying to keep the site legal (and failing)

Jack Mansfield comments from time to time, but in this instance he appears to have been told "add it to the backlog". Agree it would be good if someone with some authority gave some attention to these issues. There seems, based on what I see on Twitter, to be investment in editorial team for PH but quite what readership it gets if the forums are killed off I'm not sure. 57Ford said:

Gosh no, that wasn't the intent of my post. I admit, I did equate low post count with low visit - I'd not considered a prolific reader. What I was (obviously badly) trying to say was that more occasional / casual visitors to the forums might be less annoyed by the changes than those who use it more. But I can see now that this doesn't apply to you, so apologies.
Looking at the markup, someone has simply tweaked the width of the individual elements to make them break onto a new line - reducing width of each by 2% fixes it.
Width 25%
Width 23%
Then position the settings link a little better...
That's 3 minutes using Chrome dev tools only. A proper fix is, at most, an hour's work.
