FFS PH sort it out once & for all.

Did enough of us not complain last time, why is it only this site that’s incapable of locking its site and or advertisers down.

Ridiculous.

Sorry all, we thought we had it all under control but obviously not!

The ads team are on it, once I know more I will let you know.

Apologies again for this.

Hi everyone, just a quick update on our strategy on this...

What we have done is stop all ads via 10 routes, leaving our main, and most trusted, supplier as the only culpable candidate if a further bad ad appears. We will then slowly phase in other suppliers and work out where it is coming from.

It would be incredibly helpful if you could help us in this strategy to identify the malware source. If you would be so kind as to clear your cookie pool and then flag any issue's you may receive as soon as possible, we can then track down and blacklist the provider.

Again, apologies for the annoyance this causes, but we do very much appreciate you raising all of the issues with us.

Thank you.

Thanks for the update.

I blocked Outbrain by re-routing their traffic to a non-existent address. Never had the problem while here, but used to see it while out and about.

Thanks for sharing cahami. Just to confirm, we've now turned off the offending supplier so you're now likely to see our house adverts for the next few days. We're hopeful this has resolved the problem but as always we can never be quite sure, so please let us know if you have any issues. Thanks again for keeping us posted and do let us know if anything else pops up.

Upped the anti today with a redirect to ‘Your system is infected with 3 viruses’. I’ve had it with Pistonheads from my laptop now.

Just when we thought we had this nipped in the bud! Thank you for reporting this and apologies that you've continued to suffer from this. All of our suppliers have been running smoothly for the last month, so we're back to square one again.

If anyone else is seeing this please let us know along with the device you're using. We're investigating other solutions to blocking these ads but it all takes time sadly.

Back with a vengeance, this morning redirects are coming from "gap5861" or something, its a "your windows 7 pc is infected with 3 viruses, we will delete everything soon unless you click here"

So, its still alive, the antibiotics didn't work.

I was browsing the brexit dark money thread when it first happened, its now random even if Im between forums.

And outbrain is still at the bottom of the page with its low rent low intelligence clickbait, dragging the site down and making it look cheap.

The two are related, you know, the redirects and the outbrain.

Everyone will put up with a few adverts, what you have is damaging your brand by being st and making users suspicious. Coupled with the ongoing problems reported in my original post many months ago (just after outbrain appeared) and you can see why people are complaining.

Just out of interest, what are your site traffic stats looking like since outbrain arrived ? I bet its down.

If overall revenue is up they won’t give a st.

Forum: Classic Minis

Topic: A mad bad mini project,

Redirect: "someadmedia.com"

Nipped it in the bud before it loaded or did a merry go round of other sites. I now keep task manager open when i'm on PH so I can close IE instantly when the redirects happen.

My history gets cleared, my cookies and all the other maintenance you do to a 10+ year old computer to keep it alive.

I know many will say I should use a different browser and an adblocker, get a new laptop and lots of other suggestions but this laptop only visits a few motoring related forums and none of the others are raddled with this pox.

Rods and sods, the various Camaro forums, the Opel Manta forum to name a few.

SORT IT OUT. this its an old topic now.

None have this problem, only the mighty PH has got this crap.

I have had three or four redirect spam pages the last few weeks, each time the pH page disappears and is replaced by some "windows firewall" style spam page which is bad enough, but which can be "closed" in explorer ok, BUT at the same time it pops up, there's a loud BEEEEPP noise sounded too.
fking annoying, please sort it out, ...............….its peculiar to this site alone.

Thank you to everyone who has let us know about this. It's frustrating for us as it is for you, but our advertising team are back on the case investigating the potential culprit and more permanent solutions to blocking these adverts. Jack and I will keep you updated as soon as we know more.

I had this one this morning too on the work computer (no add block). I couldn't work out how to close it so had to re-boot the computer.

Just had this 'beeeeep' one as well. mad

Really sad to see how far PH has fallen in terms of this stuff. It certainly wasn't like this ten years ago.

PH team - you really should be ashamed not to have your house in order in this regard.

PH Team, are you willing to comment specifically on the Outbrain click bait garbage the site is festooned with?
Will you also declare whether there is plan to adopt or avoid a user experience similar to that of crash.net which is now all but unviewable?
