Whatever they did for a hour and a half yesterday has completely fked it more/again.
Same here. Is clunky at the best of times but whatever happened yesterday made it worse.

Why do they insist on trying to write their own forum software anyway?why not an off the shelf product like v bulletin. Got to wonder if the functionality of the PH forum is this flaky what are they like at security..

It's unusable in its current form, and going by recent history of the power's that be reluctance to fix issues, then I fear it may be the beginning of the end for PH.

Who is the useless fking that has broken the forum? What a hopeless wker. Excuse my rant but everything was fine on Sunday, then the headline about the site being sold it goes to st.

Key javascript culprits appear to originate from:

stats.g.doubleclick.net
sb.scorecardresearch.com (38 requests!)
images.outbrainimg.com
widgets.outbrain.com

Looks like there's some page shifting involved somewhere (trying to resize to put some big banner ads in?) which ultimately leaves you tapping / clicking on one thing, but the delay in loading the page means that by the time it's worked out you've clicked, the page has shifted down downwards, so you end up at a topic 4-5 lines above where you've clicked.
If you can make changes to your dns locally, point outbrain.com and outbrainimg.com to 127.0.0.1 and the problem will be resolved for all devices on your network. As I run a Windows dns locally it's an easy fix.

You can also do it on an individual PC by adding the following two entries in your hosts file

127.0.0.1 outbrain.com
127.0.0.1 outbrainimg.com

I've switched from Chrome to Brave on my (Android) phone for built-in, ad-free access, as Chrome's ad block doesn't come across to the mobile version.

PH is much zippier now!

Works fine on iPhone safari running ad blocker but on mac standard safari runs slow-page loads but only the first post or so until it catches up.

Can post eventually once the page loads, but the fact it takes age's to do so, makes it unusable as a forum.

Just given your suggestion a try. Works perfect now. No issues at all and no fking Outbrain adds taking half the page up now too!

Running fine on the iPhone with adblocker installed.

Pain in the arse on the iPad which doesn't (and can't -ancient iPad) have adblocker installed.

In a few minutes of using brave just to load up pistonheads.com, login and check the site worked OK brave stated it had blocked 145 adverts and 60 trackers.
That is disgusting.
