Mine is still fine.
Maybe the reason that no-one at PH has responded to this thread is because they have all been working furiously on a Brave-workaround, to ensure that no-one escapes the st service they want all members to suffer?

Personally, I can live with a few bits of bks clickbait that I'm not going to bother with, but when it is implemented in such a half-assed way as to make a site perilously close to unusable, power hogging & so on, not a healthy situation.
Having to download and use a specific browser with ad-blocking (that from the sounds of it might work in the future) is not going to end well.
It would be nice or slightly surprising if anyone involved actually had a clue about anything, but guess that's never going to happen now. Anything & everything goes for a few more clicks and some more short-term income.
Well whatever they have just done this afternoon has killed it for me. Taken 15mins to navigate here and post this.
Saw a flicker of an advert (using brave so normally don't) and it's like browsing in 1998 again! Page loads partially, scrolls but can't click, then you randomly ended up on a totally different thread to the one you wanted. Repeat.

Might just have unticked 'blocked scrips' but man, if that's what the general public sees it's amazing anyone uses the site at all!Saw a flicker of an advert (using brave so normally don't) and it's like browsing in 1998 again! I’m using this like it was 2017
Still apparently working OK for me.
Windows - Firefox + UBlock Origin + Noscript; no ads.
Android - Firefox + UBlock Origin; no obvious ads. Maybe a fragment of frame from something at the bottom depending on mode. Have had the occasional lockup when putting text in (requiring a hard kill), seems random and has been that way for ages.
Guess it depends on how thorough you blocking is and also a bit of luck on mobile.

Hi all,
We are aware of the very slow running, and agree it is extremely annoying! I'm just waiting for an update on this so will provide more information when I know more.
Apologies again.

Its not just the speed though. It's the navigation to random threads that's also a big issue. We are aware of the very slow running, and agree it is extremely annoying! I'm just waiting for an update on this so will provide more information when I know more.
Apologies again.

Key javascript culprits appear to originate from:
stats.g.doubleclick.net
sb.scorecardresearch.com (38 requests!)
images.outbrainimg.com
widgets.outbrain.com
Looks like there's some page shifting involved somewhere (trying to resize to put some big banner ads in?) which ultimately leaves you tapping / clicking on one thing, but the delay in loading the page means that by the time it's worked out you've clicked, the page has shifted down downwards, so you end up at a topic 4-5 lines above where you've clicked.
If you can make changes to your dns locally, point outbrain.com and outbrainimg.com to 127.0.0.1 and the problem will be resolved for all devices on your network. As I run a Windows dns locally it's an easy fix.stats.g.doubleclick.net
sb.scorecardresearch.com (38 requests!)
images.outbrainimg.com
widgets.outbrain.com

You can also do it on an individual PC by adding the following two entries in your hosts file
127.0.0.1 outbrain.com
127.0.0.1 outbrainimg.com
