The increase on image upload size was on classifieds only for now...
Hopefully, it'll stay that way. Huge images are a PITA on the forum.
I see, actually we've increased the upload size but we still process to image to an optimal size so they are not huge when people are viewing the advert... the goal was to enable people to create adverts from their phones without the hassle of dealing with big images captured by the phone's camera...
On ads, I'd support the ability to click through to hi-res.

On the forum, it's simply not necessary - unless you provide a back-end way of engineering them down to sub-2Mb, of course.

Also on forum it would be nice if the quoted pictures reverted to thumbs rather than full size images as per original post but I appreciate that is very much a nice to have (I think we lost automatic functionality that when we moved to one skin)

I think it's been suggested about 635,201 times if I remember correctly.

Why would you bop the person who generously picked it up on the 635,201st time over the head though?

Because it’s easier than saying thank you it has been rsised before a few times but was viewed as low priority

I think 635,201 times is an exaguration it’s probably 30 or 40 times in a handful of threads in website feedback since the skin got fixed.

I think we should put Haymarket PH behind us and take a polite and open-minded approach to the new stewards. A clean sheet.

I agree it’s really nice to see some positive feedback again to suggestions - I understand why it’s been lacking during the fattening up for sale phase.......

Agreed. It's refreshing to see some effort being put into the forums again.

Is there any insight into why the performance took such a dive in the last couple of months?

Hello,

When I go into the classified ads, I can get the first page of ads for a specific model, but can't get to the next page, or change any search criteria. The new page starts to display, but only shows the loading icon. I can leave the page loading for half an hour, and it still doesn't load.

If you're on Brave, it's that. I have to open subsequent pages in a new tab. Bit of a pain but I can deal with it.

Works brilliantly - even quoting people who have quoted pics in full size it still "thumbs" them up

Thank you Pete - those viewing on smaller divices wil be very happy

Can I offer another suggestion - not sure how well it would be accepted or even if it could be made to work.

Is there any way to ensure that huge "quoted" "quoted" "quoted" posts could be capped to say "6 nested quotes" max to stop those who can't be arsed to work with the forum formatting to just select down what they want to discuss?

We are thinking about removing the quote all functionality all together (leaving just the quote once option), but will gather feedback first before doing so. So let us know what you all think.

That's radical but maybe a bit excessive - however if people can't be bothered to clean up a quote all to slim it down to the point in discussion then I can see how that would drive the thought process of removing the quote all option

Personally I don't have a problem with multiple nested quotes until they hit 5 or 6 - then they get really hard to read and follow

I guess it's an easy (ish) thing to remove the quote all functionality and then see how many people moan about it biggrin

If you're going to remove the quote all then you're going to need to fix the quote once functionality first.

Be good if you pointed out what functionality isn't working - seems fine for me

The only issue I have seen is with a few users who either have censored words in their user names or "special characters" in their username that have since been banned from use

I rather presumed they were aware of it.

If someone responds above quoted text then the "quote" just gives empty tags (or any text after the quote). I've purposely responded above your quote so you can see it for yourself.

If you now quote this post you will see none of this in the "quote" that I have written before your quote.

You will however see this as it is after your quote.

With "quote all" you have the choice to edit the quote to remove the previous quote...but if you remove that functionality you then have no way to quote certain posts.

Thank you very well illustrated - I understand fully - and I've never noticed it perhaps because as a general rule most people reply after the quoted post rather than before and after it

I have used the quote all functionality and stripped out what I didn't want to quote in the past so in that respect I'd also miss the quote all functionality if it was removed altogether
