No disagreement here. I spent a couple of hours exploring the issue last night to narrow it down to some options.

Of course, my issue may not be the same as your issue.

I use an i-Pad and downloaded Brave as advised by PHers on this thread. It helped with the painfully slow download speeds and the jumping but I am unable to sort pages or to look at anything other than page 1 of search results.
If I had to pay to advertise on PH I would not be happy. It has been like this for years, let’s hope the new owners will invest in improving the performance of an otherwise excellent website.
