Firefox on Android appears to be combo that a) represents 0.2% of PH traffic and b) is borked.
Exactly! I should have been more clear about it. Thanks!

Where do you get the 0.2% from?
Good question! That's based on the user agent string hitting our servers, although global figures are interesting we need to work with what people using the website is using. Ah, also something I didn't make clear is that it's for Android+FF combo, not the overall FF usage.

I started with netscape navigator (maybe giving my age away) so over the years I've used a lot of browsers but I stick with FF because I like it biggrin
Stop showing off your age! laugh Next you gonna tell me we use to spend hours in ICQ? (I found about it on the web, never used it whistle )

So if it's poor implementation of device detection how do you know you 0.2% of users is correct biggrin
Good point! I actually didn't think about it... taking that into consideration I found out that the system that detects devices for making decisions on what to display is different from the system that gives usage statics, the 0.2% comes from the usage statistics, the bug comes from the other system. If both came from the same system (the usage one) we wouldn't have the issue as users on FF+Android would be correctly recognised as a mobile user and get the correct display. Hope that makes sense? wobble

Any feedback is good feedback even if it's not the news that some of us want
Yeah I'm very happy from all the constructive feedback on these, from the past I have this personal feeling that the team on this side was afraid of retaliation hence refraining from being transparent but so far we've been proving people are mature enough to deal with transparency/reality which is actually translating in a much easier feedback loop making our life a lot easier when it comes to bring in all the great feedback/suggestions you guys are providing. Let's keep it up!

I always try to be constructive - example thread below although it was your https formatting comment that made me think of it........

I do however think that the point I made a while back about the PH Board would be a good place to start - it's not getting used for anything else biggrin

Good - I also think you would get a more positive reception from an engaged element of PH - I think most of us joined it to help (although I probably only speak for myself)

Ask a question in there see what reaction you get
