I/we are not getting anywhere with this. The PH staff person who responded was 'tirolo'.

How do we contact 'Tirolo'? Because I think we are talking to ourselves here?

I beginning to think they don’t actually care about the problem.

likely more interested in working on the next advertising deal to increase revenue rather than worry about visitors who, without them, they'll have no advertising revenue.

As I'm sure you've all been following this topic thoroughly the fix was related to the specific flow reported by 768 user. Later on we got some very helpful info reported by the user eharding which helped us pinpoint what the issue is (again for that specific flow he mentioned which is probably just a percentage of the user cases here, as you can imagine it's quite challenging to reproduce every single user settings/setup)

I'm afraid I don't have good news on this as we realised it's part of a much bigger piece of work that's currently pretty low down at our priority list, while annoying it's hard to make a case around an issue that might happen for a myriad of different reasons, most of them down to user settings/setup. I hope we can all understand that.

For transparency/expectation management sake I don't think we will be working on this for the foreseeable future. Getting this and some other related issues sorted means we need to replace our current SSO technologies/processes/systems. When it comes to those system I believe only a security/privacy issue would raise its priority.

I would love to be able to provide some fix/workaround for this but no one else in the office doesn't seems to be having this issue... maybe because we are switching accounts all the time and refreshing our cookies? Either way, as mentioned before based on the reports we got the issues are mostly likely related to settings at the user end things like OS, browser, plugins/addins/addons, proxies, etc can all play into it and it's outside our control. While I'm not going to deny there are things we can do on our side to make sure things plays nicely it does mean major works needs to take place and again we are driven by priority and replacing our SSO systems doesn't seems to be coming up any time soon. Again, I hope we can all be understanding.

On a side note I have some personal thoughts I would like to share. Although things might have a low priority at the main work stream I've often witnessed team members taking up their lunch/out-of-work hours to engage with the feedback given here and not only trying to give things a push but also being vocal in meetings making sure that what you guys says here is taken into account to drive the decision making. That said I fail to see how negative/unconstructive/finger pointing comments will do any good. It's my personal believe that if the sense of respect and helpfulness to each other isn't mutual it won't take long until people gets exhausted. Please by no means I'm saying don't show your frustration, actually quite the opposite as it help us on making a case, but we need to be sensible as of when it turns from "I'm frustrated" to "Now I will just have a negative attitude towards this to try to get to them".

We are in the same boat chaps and we all want to see the community to thrive. I think it's past the time we leave things behind and start having an attitude that reflects the PH we want it to become instead of keeping alive the years we were all not so happy about the direction that was taken and I believe it will only happen if we have each other's back! What do you guys say?

Once again many thanks for taking your time to provide all the constructive feedback and let's keep 'em coming!

You mention user end but this doesn't happen on any of the multitude of other sites I use and have an account with.

Apparently paused until we finish off with the current list reported by the internal team...

that's right, hence why I also said I won't deny we have improvements to make on the server side. Sorry if I made it sound like it's the user's fault, what I actually tried to mean is that when we run the tests we are unable to reproduce the issue and based on eharding's (which points out lack of/outdated best practices on our server side) we believe the only way to have it normalised no matter your settings/setup would be to replace the systems with latest so we can benefit of all the latest and greatest compatibility/practices implemented...

Thank you for the replies. Would they be in response to my email, or is that something else?

I understand most of your post. This problem is not top priority, I think you implied?

Appreciate the response. Nothing unusual about my set up as far as I know. Safari on iPhone, iPad and iMac. Never happens on any of the other sites I visit regularly.

tirolo - thanks for the reply. As a commercial dev myself (although not web) I absolutely appreciate the position you're coming from in terms of having to prioritise issues and see what happens.

I'm going to try digging through my user settings to see if it can be resolved that way. If not then I would happily let a dev have use of my machine and account remotely to see if they can glean any details for a workaround.

ETA: I've been through every setting on the accounts page and tried altering it, I've also made sure the info fields are all populated with valid info and no change.

That's correct, given current circumstances not top priority at the moment, hopefully we can change this soon!

That's very kind! Thank you very much! Actually I've been talking to another users already that provided us enough info for us to get to the bottom of this. But again, many thanks for being so willing to help.

You are right your settings might be unrelated to this and until we find some time to improve the issues we already found with our servers it's unlikely we will see any improvements I'm afraid. But hey, I'm positive soon the team will have some new members which will increase our capacity and hopefully free us up to tackle this. Thanks again!
