Several years with this issue, and yet I've just noticed them implemented a change so that you're asked to confirm if you want to watch a topic or not. Why?! Why the need to confirm that?? It's not like anything irreversible happens if you accidentally watch a topic that you didn't want to.

The world doesn't make sense.

Once you understand that. Everything starts to make more sense!

I get the same sometimes, not sure why and I really cba with going through the post removing certain words or phrases to work out what the server doesn't like. It's a pain in the ass!

Was trying to reply to a post https://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&...
When i used and open and closed bracket around "as mentioned in my previous post", i received the 403 error.
Now that i've replaced the open close brackets with a comma, it seems to a have fixed it.

Thank you for the link.
Looking at the USB DAC section, there are about 50 manufactures, some i do not recognised.

Would it be safe to assume that all serve the same function, as mentioned in my previous post, and the extra that i pay would be for more features, more recognisable brand name etc?

The issues with brackets appear to be based on the filtering blocking SQL database queries which often use brackets.

I'd imagine there are probably a few other phrases that will be caught.

And sure enough...

This surely is a sledgehammer / nut approach. There are far better ways of achieving this.

I'm getting this when trying to post an innocuous reply in The Lounge. Very odd. Let's see if I can even post this...
Getting the same trying to post in the Non-Technic Lego thread. Glad I found this thread.

No brackets in my post at all, and I've tried deleting bits and re-wording yet it still just gives a 403 error.

ETA: I think it was because I included the word 'ban ned', without the space.

I had the issue yesterday - not got a clue why and it was on a long reply, annoyingly.

I saved it so I’m off to check it for brackets.

This is the offending string - it took a while of editing to single it out

That was a bad day out.

On the 'Forum Search' thread.

On the string "Click search forums from list." if you use the word 'Select' rather than 'Click' you get a 404 error!

Took a while to find, as always.

I'm getting the 403 forbidden error now. It doesn't matter if I'm quoting someone or posting without quoting.

Try removing any brackets from your post. That's what fixed it for me.

When it happens to me, I try to post just half the post, if that works then half the remaining post, or if it doesn't the other half, etc till you narrow it down to half, quarter, eighth, then start rewording what's left.

Utter pain in the arse. Poor coding and lack of action to resolve.

Yes. Can be all sorts of randome phrases that trips it up.

As said, try post half, then the other half, then a quarter.

Getting this error constantly trying to post in Computers, Gadgets and Stuff.

All quotations removed, tried posting in halves, quarters & 2 lines at a time.

I've been getting this a few times recently too, random 403 errors not letting me post.

Doesn't surprise me much to see its apparently been a recurring problem for years, after all PH never fixed the random logout issues either which have probably been happening for about 10 years.

But skimming through the website feedback forum it seems much more prevalent lately, there are a lot of recent threads complaining of the issue which have mostly been closed and redirected here, but without PH addressing the cause of the problems.
