Forum preferences randomly change

Hello all
Here's a strange one which I was wondering if anyone has encountered. First occured perhaps 3-4months ago, now can occur every day, or go two weeks without a problem.

What it is is this, my Forum Preferences are set to show Message Order as Descending, latest post at top of page. Usually they do, except sometimes they reverse for no known reason.

Same PC, still logged in as myself, not changed them, etc. So I go to my Preferences to check, quite rightly they are still set to descending in there, but still don't display as such. Change them to ascending, hit update, change back to descending, hit update and it returns to normal, until next time.......

Niggling annoyance rather than any great problem, but any ideas why?

Cookies expiring prematurely. I've looked at it numerous times but can't work out why. Certain times of year this happens and certain times of year it doesn't. I've not chnaged the code that looks after this for yonks.

I use IE6 at work and Firefox at home... AFAIK it only happens on IE6

Ted: I wonder if it is a US date format thing - my problem of being automatically logged out and losing preferences appears to have stopped now that we have passed the 12th of the month.

Oh, and I'm IE6.0 with SP2 running on XP pro.

I've been wondering that too. I'll check again but that was the only theory I had last time. It certainly does occur more often at the beginning of months.

Just so you know, just did it again this morning, 16th......

This time, I go to preferences, and "Oops, access error", Log back in, reset prefs and back to normal again.

Been happening to me. I though it was one of my lads deleting the cookies to get their sites working. Just though to look here and I see I'm not alone. Running IE6 on XP-SP2
