Yes we use cookies for this so if you have them disabled, that'll explain why it's not working for you.

OK.

So I've just tried this in a new window on vanilla Firefox on MacOS. No cookie suppression, no adblockers, no nothing. Not signed in to PH account. All cookies accepted at privacy pop-up.

It still doesn't work. Process:

Go to Buy -> Buy New Cars
Enter postcode & search
Now click Buy -> Buy New Cars again
No postcode in box

Firefox 94.0 (64-bit) on MacOS.

I've found your bug, however smile If you start on the homepage and enter your postcode in the car search box there, it will be remembered. However, if you start your search journey at https://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds/used-cars then no cookie is set. I'm assuming that you only built the cookie-setting for the front page form?

Still disagree with your collecting it and using it, but at least that might help you to make the experience consistent.

Honestly, surely you do some basic testing.

1. Pick Alpine, enter postcode, click button to see 6 results

2. See 177,772 results

3. Click back, postcode has gone

We do. But the page you're going back to is soon going to a farm with a nice family upstate. Give it a month or so and you won't have to worry about the website remembering your postcode. wink

If you do some basic testing, how do explain the screenshots I posted?
