I know the reason behind pop ups and don't mind.
But I do hate it when they take over my screen and this new VXR on the right of some pages is just not on!
Everytime I move my mouse to the scroll bar at the side (which I have to do obviuosly) it opens this pop up.
Surely this is a little too much?

The VXR one also causes a problem under Safari on the Mac (latest version, 2.0). You click the close button in the corner of the ad and it appears to go away. However the flash plugin is still active in the area that the ad previously occupied, and clicks in that area go off to vauxhall.
I cannot, therefore, get to the classified advert underneath. I dunno what the cause is (badly written popup flash code?) but it needs fixing as it's impairing PH functionality.
I don't mind popups on PH 'cos I know why they're here, but when they don't work properly, it's very annoying!
Edit: And I do have cookies enabled, and yes, the advert pops up every bloody time, not just once.

Safari doesn't give granular enough options, so 3rd party cookies are off. Good point, I'd forgotten about 3rd party cookie configuration, so that explains the repeated appearance. Firefox has an exceptions facility that Safari lacks, but for various reasons, I'm mostly using Safari right now... Swings, roundabouts, etc.
Still doesn't change the Flash bug, mind, which is the real gotcha.

Hi Ted
I'm getting the "delayed" ad effect too using Firefox. When it goes it's still active on the page - preventing you from clicking anything else in the affected area.
I have PH on allowed popups so am getting it fairly regularly.
There is also a delay on "closing" the rollover VXR ad.
Cheers
Phil
