Dont wish to tell you how to run your site Ted, but for some reason im getting ads keep coming on all over the place.
Ive had in place a particular ad blocker, which has worked fine up until yesterday night, when there seems to be dozens of them coming on.
Just wondered if it was you or me?

I only get the banner at the top of each page (one of which flashes, grrr) and the small ones in the Gassing Station. Maybe you should run ad-aware.

I only get the ones on the page... sounds to me like you've got another page open or something?

EDIT - IIRC Ted doesn't do popups...

Please clarify what ads you're referring to.

I have put some anti-ad blocker measures in place which went live last night.

If you're complaining that your ad blocker isn't working then tough I'm afraid. I'll be doing everything I can to circumvent ad blockers.

Remember - no adverts = no PistonHeads

And to anyone considering advertising, check out the latest research:

Are they all PH related ads (i.e. car related items) or are they popups coming from somewhere else?

What do you mean get rid? Are they pop ups? If so, nothing to do with PH.

The adverts embedded in the pages are not intrusive and are required in order to keep PH going. If you don't like the adverts then don't use the site.

I've just found the "ad list" by the RH side of the banner at the top. You can get all the details of Ted's superb advertisers in one swift click.

Very useful when you're bored and just happen to want to browse every TVR related site you can find!!!!

When I experimented with an ad blocker detector the other day I had someone complain that I had no right to popup a window saying 'please turn off your ad blocker'.

Apparently the ads were wasting his bandwidth

but why you would want to get rid of such beauties as:

is beyond me, quite frankly.

There is one ad though (won't say which one) which flashes a bit quickly, which to me makes the page a bit unprofessional IMO.

deltaf, do these ads only appear when visiting PH?
Could be that there is some ad-software installed on your PC. These often come with free downloads such as file-sharing software or else.

Here is a good information source on how they're called (to identify them in the task manager) and how to get rid of them.

The 'Caterham - hire one for a day or win one for a day!' one. The bottom half flashed red and white annoyingly.

No issue with the banners and inserts but this:

popped up while I was browsing Pistonheads (no other pages open)

Sounds like you've got Gator or something installed. PH does not pop up adverts.

Install AdAware.
