How long will pictures be kept on PH ?

I created the thread below a while ago now, but it gets referred to about every 6 months or so. I've noticed the TINYPIC pictures are no longer available, so I was wondering if its worth re-doing them on tinypic or recreating the thread using the PH method of uploading pictures.

As all pictures in the PH forums are embedded pictures from third party websites the length of time they are visible on PH depends on the third party website still serving the images. For long established websites such as BBC, Sky, Autocar etc the embedded pictures will probably last for a very long time. For any picture store such as Flickr, Tinypic, Imageshack etc then these stay as long as the account the pictures are on stay active (or until they change their naming or directory structure), so this could be a variety of length.

If you use the PistonHeads method then it is in our interest (as it is our account) to keep this live from now until eternity (or PH's eternity), so it is our preferred method if you need picture longevity.
