It's good to see that adverts are remaining free for private sales.
I have always prefered the layout of the P.Heads classifieds, they are far superior IMHO.

I recently, (two weeks ago) sold a car on here in 5 days... clap which i was well pleased with!
It's a top service, odds on you know that the cars you are looking at will be looked after, I sold my Alfa in under 24 hours!! can anyone beat that?
Yes... sold my M3 last year in 45 minutes! Excellent service - thanks.
Nice one, my M3 is going on soon, hoping for a quick sale

Excellent news, my VW should be for sale in a few weeks time so this is good timing.

Won't premium adverts swamp the normal stuff since there are so many people already registered?
Part of the problem under the old system was that site registration wasn't a requirement to post an ad, so the number of registered members uploading cars was always a relatively small proportion of the total. So yes, premium ads (either free to you guys or paid for by non-members) will appear above the free stuff, but then that's a benefit of having been a member of the site before today...

In reality it'll be more apparent in those areas of the site where we carry a LOT of the same cars, but then the filtering tools will continue to be in place to let a search be narrowed down.

Garlick / racingpete / mrwill, just for your information I just spoke to your guys on the 0208 267 number, when logging into a trade account if you use the link http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/submit.asp it doesn't seem to like my trade account login. If I follow the link on that page which is http://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds/manage/adTy... I can log in just fine.

As a trader the login is still the vDealer system... http://www.vdealer.co.uk/v2/login.asp as before and the new system is still for private sellers.

We will make this a bit clearer on the login page for the new classifieds system.

Nice work! Still the best resource on the net for selling to like minded people! The premium system should hopefully stop the..ahem.. more common cars being swamped within a few hours.

Thanks PH

Just like to say - 10/10 to PH for the excellent Classifieds Section". Sold quite a few cars on here and bought even more. Thank you for a great service and introduce a few more search criteria (as per Autotrader) and it will be even better. Thank you!

Will, Pete whilst you're at it, any chance you can stop the traders filling up space in the cars for sale section with "wanted" adverts?

I will have a look into this in the morning though I expect it is due to the old live ad having smileys or HTML in it that is affecting the parser.

I will have a look at the payment records. Though the new system does allow us to spot more scammers we will be constantly improving the background checks also over the next weeks. New system = new fun with the scammers.

Good changes folks, and as others have said, nice to see us old hands rewarded with the free premium advert bit. Cheers, and keep up the good work.
