This is disgusting. I had absolutely no idea. This thread needs to be bumped regularly.

Sadly Jack we've been here long enough to know what PH staff say and what PH staff do are two entirely different things.
For example...Lotus, HTTPS, Phonesafe...

I didn't mean that in a sarcastic way, sorry if it came across in that way. We are absolutely taking it seriously, but we've had various staff members leave that were dealing with it, which means the process has had to pretty much start again!

I really do apologise for the prolonged delay!

Sounds like a few rockets need to go up a few proverbials at PH Towers if people leave and things this important just get dropped. Couldn't operate our business this way.

Jack that is an excuse, not a reason and you know it is.

Back in February 2016 i.e. nearly a whole fking year ago

We have explored a number of avenues and I believe a decision has been made to migrate to a new free phone platform. Work has been scheduled to start in the next few months with a release date planned the second half of the year. Any further information I get on this I will let you know.
So, even allowing for slippages in start time, lets give you the benefit of the doubt and say that work started on implementing a replacement platform in August, bearing in mind that the current solution still seems to contravene regulations. I'd assume that things would be ticking along nicely in the background in terms of any Dev/QA etc etc.

Then, all of a sudden one, two or however many of the team that were working on it decide to find roles elsewhere. Now, knowing that several key members of staff were due to leave in a month (or maybe three, depending on their notice period), obviously those in charge at PH said to themselves 'Oooh, we better get some resource onto this sharpish, so that the guys who are off can do a nice smooth handover and we can get the implementation finished in a timely manner, so that we aren't breaching regulations anymore'.

That's what happened, isn't it Jack? I'm bang on the money there aren't I? [/sarcasticmode]

It's a fking shambles. You can bet your last pound that if it had been affecting core advertising revenue that contributes to the Haymarket bottom line, it'd have been sorted a long long time ago.

I don't think anything you've said could be taken as sarcastic at all.
Maybe 'just taking the piss', or lying but not sarcastic.
Are you not embarrassed? Or is the money that good that you just dont care.

I asked that the other day but unsurprisingly, I didn't get a response rolleyes

The fact that a thread in Website Feedback is over 7 yers old, still running and has no resolution yet speaks absolute volumes.

Who is the relevant regulator?

Is it www.psauthority.org.uk ?

070 numbers
What are they?
Numbers beginning with 070 may look like mobile numbers but they are different and can be more expensive. They are used to divert calls to another phone number. Small businesses and sole traders often used these to avoid giving out their personal phone number, and to take advantage of a facility that allows calls to the 070 number to be redirected to whichever fixed line number or mobile phone they prefer. 070 numbers are regulated by Ofcom. However, we can investigate services on these numbers if they are found to offer phone-paid services and/or the number is being misused and if the cost of the call exceeds 10p per minute.

vs

How much will it cost to use PhoneSafe?

There is no charge for PistonHeads sellers who want to use PhoneSafe. Buyers who contact a seller through PhoneSafe will be charged only a small amount more than direct calls. The charges are listed below:
Day: 37.5p
Evening: 25.0p
Weekend: 12.5p

Assumed he thought it was only 37p total, not per minute. No winks etc to assume imply sarcasm

That's another week gone by.

Jesus Christ, in my day job we can design, test and build a car in circa 3 years. Apparently it's easier and less time consuming than sorting out this nonsense of a phonesafe system. nuts
