Again, for the third time of selling a car PH Classifieds came up trumps!

I advertised my grandfathers 406 V6 saloon for him here and also on A.N. Other website.

AS happened when I previously sold one of my Alfas the quality of the enquiries was FAR better from PH ad than any others.

The buyer was a thoroughly decent chap, reliable, polite and an honest buyer.

He got the exact car he was looking for and my grandfather was delighted with the sale. Win win situation.

So, cheers to Pistonheads!

Sold my last car, for free, within 2 days of it going up. Why pay autotrader £30?

Sold my focus through Ph classifieds, it was on autotrader too and I had no end of calls from time wasters and dreamers thinking I would sell the car for pocket change. One call thanks to PH, the guy asked the right questions, arranged to view the car. The day of the viewing, they call to say they are on thier way, alittle later the guy and his dad turn up. All things go well, they pay, I waved good bye and overall it was a nice selling experience.

They were the first to view the car and were very pleased despite having 2 calls a day and many failed viewing thanks to autotrader.

So, yeah, thanks PH.

Have to admit for me, Pistonheads has been great for buying. But for selling... eBay seems to get cars shifted a lot quicker for me! Had upwards of twenty time wasters from Pistonheads last time unfortunately.

It didn't work for me but I sold a Rover so there's no surprise there really. biggrin

I'm sure given my current PH friendly car I wouldn't have much trouble.

I had a similar experience selling my Octavia vRS on here. Plenty of enquiries, the odd tyre-kicker came to see the car too, but it was Ebay that got the car sold in the end and by the first person that called up about it.

I find the PH classifieds so hard to search that I just don't bother anymore. I must have lost some nice cars but its nothing like the other main auto site where you can search on age, mileage, colour, and keywords.

PH Classifieds have been brilliant for me. On the last car; I placed my ad at 11 A.M. and had the cash in my hand 3 o'clock that afternoon!

So true. Especially if you are searching for parts.

I've sold all my cars on ebay despite getting enquiries from PH.

Agree that the search sucks and so it can take ages to find what one is looking for sometimes but the last 3 cars I have purchased all came via PH and sold a few over the years as well. Always had good experiences with really nice owners and buyers. Got good money for the cars I have sold and always paid well below market for the ones I have purchased. Always my first port of call for buying and selling as although there is nothing like the number of buyers on PH as other sites, and less sellers generally, I find it to be head and shoulders above any other site. Not for ease of use perhaps but certainly for getting the cars sold or buying a bit of a bargain.

Yeh, i must admit, Pistonheads has been good for me aswell.

My current 147GTA and ZX6R were both bought on the Classifieds. Both were pleasant expereinces with a good chat and a cup of tea involved.

Sold all my cars on PH, seems the audience is a bit more focused than ATrader now. All I ever got from them was nigerians asking to purchase the car for their Archbishop who was dead and I had to accept a cheque for $390,000,000 if I sent them the change.

Oddly enough i had the opposite experience. After 6 weeks of advertising on PH i had no enquiries about my car at all. Not one. Well, apart from the 'joke' one my mates sent me with a free rick-roll included. The bds.

I stuck it on Autotrader and had sold it to a nice couple (the first people who enquired about it, too), with money in my account and the car gone in less than 24 hours!

Admittedly we're talking about a diesel Focus, so not exactly a particularly PH'y car! The ad was also a standard rather than premium one. Still, it was surprising.

+1

Also never sold a car on here, its always been Auto Trader that shifted it, though that didnt stop PH claiming it had been 'sold through pistonheads!'
