Best trickle charger for a Diablo
Discussion
Yes, the battery is inside the wheel arch on the passenger side - another reason not to let it go flat.
theres a charger point in the engine bay on the passenger side, in the side panel (if you have them fitted)
mine was corroded so I replace with a standard cigarette lighter socket, and no just plug the ctek in there

Any decent trickle charger would do. Personally I use Draper BC8A on all my cars, jetski quad etc, have several of them and never let me down once.

I wouldn't recommend charging through the cigarette lighter, best place is at the jump terminals in the engine bay.

The charging points are on the left (as you look at the car from the back) under the strut. They have little rubber hats on. They are the +. There are two. For the - I just attach that to the bolt at the end of the engine bank.
Always use the battery cut off switch behind the passenger seat first.

Main reason I don't like the cigarette socket is, it was designed to send power out, not in, plus the wires attached to the back of the socket are very thin, so keeping a charger attached for long periods could heat them up, potentially melt or worse start a fire.
Going direct to the jump terminal is without doubt the best place, its also in the Lamborghini Handbook! So if they recommend attaching a charger/jump starter there, it's the right thing for me.
There have also been cases where people attaching things wrongly to theses cars, caused the LIE Computers to fry, which is an expensive lesson to learn.

Thanks i'll look out for the charging point.
This car is going back on the road after 10 years and its lay up all started with a flat battery.
Hence the desire for charger info.
Thanks
Mate, don't just start her after 10 years!!!!! After you've recharged the battery. Someone will tell you what needs to be done first. Sorry to hear re the owner, but do you know if it was regularly serviced or started in those 10 years....This car is going back on the road after 10 years and its lay up all started with a flat battery.
