Diablo roadster roof stuck

Can anybody help,
I have driven the Diablo roadster for the first time in ten years.
I just found out that the roof was off and clipped onto the hood of the engine for those ten years.
When I collected the car the roof was on, I have clipped it onto the engine hood and successfully un clipped it once by pressing the button. However, come to put the car away and all I get from the button is a click but the roof doesn't release from the hood. I don't have a manual and tried it handbrake on and off, engine on and off, ignition on and off.
Any clues anybody?

2 Manual release levers under the engine cover. Should anybody else read this thread, I have learned that the cockpit release button is on a vacuum/solenoid and notorious for breaking down.
