Aventador, sell or Keep?.
Discussion
I think I might have seen you with the Aventador and X-Bow in Stratford upon Avon on Saturday.
I have to say (if it was you) I've not seen one on the road until Saturday and I does have the most amazing presence which I don't think much else would compete against.
There just so low and wide.
Although the X-bow did look good as well I must say.

Yip that was me and my Pal Dave in the Xbow which he bought off me that very morning!I have to say (if it was you) I've not seen one on the road until Saturday and I does have the most amazing presence which I don't think much else would compete against.

I have just sold my Aventador as it started to feel like the only reason I owned it was because of the way it looks. So although I completely agree with the visual impact comments I think it's not the reason to keep a car of this value. The car is now out of date technically and you really start to feel when you test other cars. I also found the car very difficult to sell and no dealers were really interested in even making a low bid, part exchange was also out of the questions in most cases and how many private people have got £200k plus in cash to wire you the money on a private sale. I am based in Europe so perhaps things are slightly different but for most Italians and French these cars are not the sort of thing you want to be seen in given the economic issues bracing the eurozone.
I would suggest testing an F12 and see who you feel about that. With the right spec these are really growing on me and the combo of gearbox and motor just blow the Aventador away. Also look at the 599 GTO for something a little more special. This has real visual impact.
Just my opinion of course!!
Good Luck

First time I had seen either car on the road out in the wild and also 'unknowingly' other Pistonhead members. Wish I had known as I would have said hello at the lights.

Surely UK dealers are taking them in px, but many of them do seem to have been advertised for many many months - especially the roadsters.I would suggest testing an F12 and see who you feel about that. I absolutely agree with this. You only have to look on the classifieds to see that these cars are not shifting & private + dealers are having these in stock for some time. The Aventador is still my dream car & wouldn't hesitate in buying one should I win the lottery. Stunning cars but have absolutely no idea how they drive compared to other "super cars".I would suggest testing an F12 and see who you feel about that. What about an F12 or FF?
You did say the other week at the Mclaren pre-christmas get together that you fancied another Ferrari...

Tbh honest the FF and F12 don't hold much interest for me. While I appreciate they're both very good cars they will just seem a bit bland in comparison to the Aventador. The only Ferrari I would consider would have been a Speciale but even then I'd have a car that I'd be paranoid about mileage and that maybe didn't feel that special.
Cheers

Bit of a quandary at the moment, I bought my Aventador not much more than 6 months ago with the intention of keeping it for very special occasions and possibly covering 3k miles a year tops. However you know what best intentions are and I've so enjoyed driving it that I've covered more miles than planned without even the summer season being upon us.
So with the car being a 2013 and warranted until March 2016 do I keep it for the summer putting another 3-4k miles on it (10k at present) or do I sell it now with warranty. I've no idea what to replace it with as I really don't think much else can come close this side of a hyper car for that sense of occasion.
Thoughts please.
Steve
You seem overly worried about mileage. So with the car being a 2013 and warranted until March 2016 do I keep it for the summer putting another 3-4k miles on it (10k at present) or do I sell it now with warranty. Just enjoy the car, drive it when you want to drive it, and by doing more miles your £/mile will be far less than if you are using it on occasion only.
Unless you have an itch to scratch and something in mind to replace it with, why bother?
