Saw this yesterday - that's pretty quick! I'm looking at the steering, and I'm guessing that the car in the video has dynamic steering? frown

A
Every Journo HATES this steering on any form of VW (sorry) Audi/Lambo product, so why do they insists on having it as an option? why can't they just remove it if it is such a bad thing?
As ever with the journo's every detail exagerated! I have dynamic steering on my Huracan. After driving it for a few hundred miles I don't even notice it. It's like manual gearboxes some people are just Luddites.(-:

Would you just say Journos are generally just too over critical of things on cars? That in the real world don't really bother owners/prospective owners?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jxSDFABiqb8 This is a great review by Harry Metcalfe ( M4SER ) Worth a watch! I highly respect his opinion over most other journalists. (Although there are many good ones: Chris Harris, Steve Sutcliffe, Jethro Bovingdon, Henry Catchpole, Alex Goy to name a few other than the top gear trio)

As you're a Huracan owner few questions:
1) How do you find the seats (again journo issue)
2) Do you have the sports/race exhaust? (Drove past a 'standard' black one near Nottingham accelerating, windows down and could barely hear it - in contrast chap I know has a factory sport exhaust equipped one and sounds SO much better (even with tiny throttle inputs) and apparently adds up to around 40bhp?)
3) Do you have the black plastic or the now available glass back? (Ive now seen both, personally think with the glass its a massive improvement especially as you can see the engine you've paid all that money for!) Just wondering what your opinion is on both options?

Seems that some owners of the Huracan are preferring it over the Aventador (which a fair few seem to have owned), mostly due to a more manageable size on the road and the massive improvement of the gearbox. Only negative of owning the Huracan I've heard of is that fact its a v10 not a v12?

Sorry if the statements appear I am generalising and that you are enjoying the Huracan biggrin

Sorry, sone, but after driving the Huraca with Dynamic Steering in Tuscany for few hundred km, on autostrada, A roads, N roads and then around a track, I cancelled my order. The Car is amazing, but the Dynamic Steering - It's an epic fail, IMO.

Do you track your cars? The reason I ask is this is where it truly stood out for me? I fully intend to track my Aventador SV, so the Dynamic Steering is important to me.....

Hi Anjum,

I will take the Huracan on track probably once or twice while I own it but I wouldn't say I track it in the real sense I have another car that I've bought specifically for that role.
Maybe you're right on track it would be an issue but for me even when being "on it" I don't notice the dynamic steering same as the comments with regard under steer. I have tried to provoke the car to under steer and eventually it will but you need to be going at a stupid rate much much quicker than than any sensible person should do on the road to make this happen. Infact its worth noting I could make my Aventador under steer easier. Be interesting to see how many Sv's are sold with the Dynamic steering.

Dynamic steering is standard on SV, cant get it without it so I'm told.

For road Huracan dynamic steering is fine and you would probably never even notice, on track however it would really aggravate.

My Huracan I specced without it and would do the same for SV if it were possible. That said I really don't think it matters that much, if it were on a car I wanted it woudnt put me off buying it. They should just add an option like Porsche in the electrics menu where you can turn it on of off and everyone would be happy!

1)Seats are very nice I have alcantara inserts and no complaints very comfortable but were all different shapes I suppose.
2)race exhaust is a must otherwise car is far too quiet on tick over, can't comment on power gains but it doesn't slow it down!
3)I ordered the glass back on my car but cancelled it following advice by Lambo technicians who told me there were issues with reflection in sunlight and basically all you could see was the engine in some conditions. No idea if true but I chose to get the back colour matched and I think it looks great and vision out is excellent.
4) I loved my Aventador only let down for me was the gearbox. While Lamborghini will tell you they stuck with the single clutch gearbox to give the car more character I'd say they did it because the twin clutch won't fit in the carbon monocoque.
Do I prefer the Huracan? Well yes as a driving machine but no if I were posing in the middle of central London. Like others tho I think the Huracan is a quicker car up to a point thanks to its fluid gear change.

2) Glad to see an owner agrees, is at as expensive as Ive heard (near £10K)
3) Have you seen one with glass yet? Try and get a look at one, see if it changes your mind! And it makes such a difference having that plastic painted, I think it looks so cheap in the standard matte plastic trim.
4) Aventador will be more of an occasion, looks so much more dramatic, and the exhaust is worth the money. If you're a driver why would you want to be posing in central london? ( read James ST(C)UNT who thinks its ok to roll round in a ridiculous motorcade)

Huracan does look good, but I think it is quite a spec sensitive (visually) car, can be very easy to ruin the look of the cars - still don't get the plastic around the exhaust though - maybe that would look better also if colour matched?
Friend drove one and said it was sensational, and miles better than a gallordo. (gearbox being the best thing) but did say to look at a 458 looks more special in his personal view - but wouldn't see which way it went in anything but perfect conditions!

Exhaust is expensive yes nearer 6 than 10 tho!
I've seen one with the glass yes still prefer colour coded back tbh, looks more Lamborghini and besides the engine isn't that visible or good looking!
Owned a 458 and to be honest the Huracan feels fresher, newer, while the 458 is a great cat I wouldn't go back.

With the glass engine cover there is no reflection (that's why you can't get gloss carbon though) however parts of it are blacked out, probably, about 40% of it meaning its like looking out of a postbox from in the car with the angle its at reducing the view even more, really, really poor visibility!

I however think it looks really nice, Huracan is a way better car than Aventador imo for nearly anything, however its just not as cool, I've had both and got an SV coming soon if my opinion needs qualifying. So different you need both!

Autocar today Aventador SV ........ one 15 min window at the Ring ........ no works driver a few slides and a 6Min 59 sec lap ..... on Pereili road tyres........ did not want to try too hard and may steal the thunder of Audi group 918 and its serious time of 6 56.

Erm you're a bit late about the SV ring time aren't you?
918 Was 6:57
SV-6:59
Not bad for something that costs half as much with no other trickery, driver clearly had a massive set of balls mind you.

Is it not general consensus that the dynamic steering in the SV is a completely different animal to the system in the Hurcan? Whether that is hardware or software changes I am unsure.

The same happened when the GT3 launched the steering feels completely different just through an electrical recalibration when compared to a standard carrera s.
