Prior to taking my car on a 2400 mile road trip to Spain later this year I wanted to gauge what sort of mpg I'd get, so to start with I did the 350 mile round trip to Goodwood BC this weekend using restraint, my car achieved 17.2 mpg which I was quite happy with.

So next is Lemans which I know wont be quite so fuel efficient as my mate will be with me rather than the wife! What's everyone else seeing from their Murci's? I'm not interested in my Murci being economical but am curious what to expect.

The longest journey I have done is just over 300 miles, and my average was about 13mpg..How on earth did you achieve 17mpg??? I would have thought that to be impossible !

Just cruising between 80-85mph, about 40 miles of the journey was on A roads too.

We will end up in La Marina (about 15 mile south of Alicante) as my parents live there. We are going later than you, not sure of exact dates (wife booked it all) but its around end July.

In Sept 2005 I did 2640 miles around Europe in the Murcielago and averaged 15.5mpg with about 18mpg on long fast motorway runs. The LP640 went to Le Mans in 2008 and that did 1mpg less on the motorways than the Murcielago
