Nice easy one for a Saturday night!

Getting to grips with the car and loving it!

Nissan car company have invited me to display the Murcielago at their summer event. They are also paying for a car detailer to spend a day or so getting it ready. Great coup as they have agreed to support my local charity for terminally ill children. Here is the query. My rear panel needs adjusting as it touches the rear engine cover, I assume it is a air brake, is there a trick to manually open the spoiler to get to the bolts form the outside or do I need to short the actuator to get it to think the car is on the open road.

from memory you hold the wing button down and turn on ignition whilst someone else turns of kill switch when wing raises

If it's the rear spoiler you are referring to(the bit behind the flat area at the back of the engine cover)I don't think it can be raised and lowered manually,
I think the button Jon is referring to is for the "bat wings" on the panel above the rear wheels

if you hold the button down and turn ignition on it does raise and lower the rear wing but it does it quickly so you need someone to kill the battery when it raises

If you are talking about the panel that the spoiler sits on you do not need to open the spoiler to remove it. It is only held in by 2 bolts on the engine side which you can see once the mesh grill in the engine bay is removed. The rear of the panel is located with 2 pins which sit in rubber locators. Once the bolts are undone the whole panel will slide back and out. Don't forget to unplug the connectors which will be located next to the bolts. Also it is a good idea to mask up the wings along the side of the panel as there is not much room to play with. You won't need to take it right out as you will be able to see the bolts to adjust the brackets after moving it back a few inches.

Gents,

just got back home after another week in London. Thanks for the pointer Dave I reckon you are correct as I can see the bolts. Also tried Jon's trick and it worked a treat. I can easily get to the bolts so should be able to adjust the spoiler ready for the detailers coming in a week or so.
