Hello all,

I'm looking for some honest feedback from owners as i'm in the middle of purchasing a 2004 Manual Murcie with 18k miles. Its had full Lambo service history and i'm purchasing from main dealer.

I must say it looks mint with perfect history however, coming from a McLaren 12c i'm worried about older supercar V12 running costs/problems! Looked through a few posts but haven't really found many scary stories yet.

What should I expect?

Cheers,
Jonny

Get it checked out by Carrera Sport in Haywards Heath. If Mike says it's a good one you have no concerns.

Mine's 02 with 37k miles, manual
Had it 3 years. No probs.
When I bought it (from Tom Hartley Snr) it had a number of little niggles but I felt that these were reflected in the price - the boot leaked when it was raining, the battery cut off switch needed replacing, the little red suspension light was on.
But it's a Lamborghini; if nothing was wrong, it'd be a Honda.
Got it sorted at Lambo Pangbourne.
Much better made than an early Diablo; but quite a lot more to go wrong.

My 2005 egear has just had it's tenth birthday. 35K miles, no major dramas at all. Few batteries, tyres, couple of clutches. It did have a power steering pump under warranty all those years ago, but nothing else.

Buy it and enjoy ! The doors go up.......

My advice would be research the history of the car as much as possible get an extended full mechanical warranty from the dealer 1 year min, extendable through warranty direct ,people who have done mine... budget 3k year 1 , 2k year 2, dealer to give year one as part of any deal. Have the car fully serviced by current owner / dealer before you complete purchase on it along with the full lambo inspection, any pendings to be paid for by them/ owner. Mike at Carrera Sport or David at Lambo Pangbourne are the ones for service. Throttle bodies does it hunt on tickover should be rock steady at 900rpm ?,power steering and lift seals, valve guides (done yearly?) & clutch ( pick up should be at bottom of the pedal travel not top). Great reliable cars if used often . Put 2000 miles on mine in last 14 days and it loves it. Old school manual v12 supercar at its very best . PM me if you need more info glad to help.

Thank you for all your help - its a good example but has suffered from bad road rash damage on the paint lower skirts behind the wheels.

Dealer is saying just a touch up as the rest of the paint is original but personally I think it should be done properly? They also said they cannot supply a clutch wear report on a manual? Surely they can supply a more detailed analysis then feeling the biting point!

Cheers,
Jonny

That's standard to model, also stone chips on the flanks in front of the rear wheels. What colour is it solid or metallic ? Not possible to read clutch wear on a manual, that measurement is from the e-gear ECU only.

If it's the blue car, then it is a rare metallic colour.
You can't just touch it up, as your dealer is suggesting.
I would get it done properly, because that car looks stunning in that colour and you are very unlikely to pass another one in the street.
Good luck with the car.

That may be registered 2004, but it's an early car with Diablo front brakes, so not the expected 2004 spec. Price does reflect that though, £66K ?! That's a value Murci, whichever way you look at it !

They do not want to go down in price ... but ad is there for almost one year ...
