Hi all,

This is my first post on PistonHeads and as such, I want to put forward a good impression smile.

I'm starting a YouTube channel and wish to get some content focusing around exotic hypercars. As per the 'Terms and Agreements' (section 12e), i'm prohibited from promoting my channel here, so i'm not going to post my channel name or any links to content that I will, or will not want to produce.

However, I am very interested in securing HD video content regarding models of Lamborghini, more specifically the Aventador Coupe and Aventador Roadster. The type of content I would like to produce is POV test drives, 'ride alongs' and general up-close footage of the car.

I'm based near Reading (outside London, westwards). Would anybody know how I might be able to acquire some footage around my area ?

Kind regards,
Tom

Have you tried approaching your local dealership?

I don't think you will have much luck here, PH supercar owners aren't known to be the most accommodating folk.

Being a bit negative there! I put a similar request on PH when I was starting out in car photography and had a few helpful replies and DMs. Some supercar owners are actually broad minded and chilled people!

Supercar owners can be accommodating. I have taken photographers out in my car before and done photoshoots. I think the issue is that the OP has one post, so nobody knows him, and the request for drives etc is a bit much from a stranger. As said before, try hanging around a dealership or car show for a bit and letting people get to know you.

The difference is generally, if its for an enthusiast that just loves cars then people like to make dreams come true, whereas if it is for your commercial gain then you should really be paying for their time.

Hi All,

Apologies, haven't been too active recently (work commitments). I appreciate all your advice, I knew it would be a long shot. There aren't too many car meets happening at the moment (or none that are publicly advertised), I think people like to keep it hushed up.

Much like a business venture, it needs to start slow. Its something that I see as a dream, so whether I can secure a drive when i'm 25 (currently 21) or 85 - it'll be a life-changing experience.

I have called Romans International in London, Lamborghini London and approached my local Audi dealership. I didn't expect too much from the former; Lamborghini London was like approaching Intel with a processor blueprint built out of cardboard; and the local Audi dealership was interested in letting me take some photos of their R8. As appreciative as I was, you can find thousands of photos of these cars through a quick Google search, so not the most penetrative USP (really needed a test drive of some sort).

Partially I feel like im living in la-la land, approaching these established big names and asking for such things, but then I remember that only the brave succeed wink Safe to say though at the moment, i'm feeling slightly despondent.

As always, i'm very appreciative of any help, support and/or guidance that you provide.

Thanks,
Tom

Phone would be the last thing on my mind to be honest, as companies get cold calls all the time. I would either go there in person or write to them (finding a specific person to write to).
