Hi All,

What are owners tending to do after starting-up and before driving off, is the consensus of informed opinion to let the car idle for a while until it begins to warm-up or, alternatively, drive off almost immediately and sticking to low engine speeds until coolant, engine oil and gearbox oil has warmed and got somewhere near to the right temperature?

When I bought mine, the chap selling them at the time(@AFN Reading) said to leave it for about 2-3 minutes, whilst the ECUs settled the revs down......

Not a Diablo but with the 355 I also waited for about 30-60 sec for the revs to settle and then drove off keeping the revs below 3k and then 4K until oil warmed up.

In any case even if warming up for a few minutes, would still stick to the same procedure once driving off for gearbox oil etc to warm up

... you all sound a bit precious.... I had my Diablo for ten years - never had any problems with it. I don't ever remember giving fluid temps a second thought. I'd start the engine pull out the drive and overtake the first thing I could when it was safe to do so!

Yeah I always let mine warm up for a few minutes, long enough for the carter motor to release the throttle and settle the engine down to a nice steady tickover.

Anything else would have been disrespectful :-)
