Dear all

So my SV exhaust is straight through, no cats no muffler & non OEM tips (i didn't do it)

I intended to buy the OEM muffler, cats and tips and keep it stock. But I wanted to know before I do if that is the right thing to do? The reasons for my choosing this route is two fold only A/ Keep the car original, and B/ Keep the sound the way it's supposed to be.

However point A was really all about keeping the car original to keep the value up, but can exhausts be considered like wipers, tyres, discs brakes, clutches? does it matter if an exhaust isn't OEM?

Then the sound, some of the aftermarket exhausts on youtube should be named flatulencers and not exhausts, I don't want the SV to sound like it's had a curry and 3 pints of Guinness the night before.

And finally if anyone knows what and aftermarket system would cost? one that sounds like it should? or maybe even recommend one?

Quicksilver and Ansa are the 2 choices I keep toying between for sports exhausts for the Diablo SV.

I think they are others but Ansa was OEM on the Countach's and the original Diablo Box is big and very very heavy - about 60lb I think ?

One day I'll sort mine out.

Thanks, I'll have a look at the Ansa. I saw the QS ones, photo here. So I guess they place the firewall box over it once installed.

Normal Diablo engine with firewall box,

not sure if you ever got sorted on this, but I removed the heatshield cover on mine, and found the Quiksilver system underneath.

According to Del, they were fitted to a lot of the UK cars by him, as part of the importer's work.

Looks nice. In the end I had a NOS OEM muffler fitted so it was back to factory. Very heavy though, it makes sense why many were converted.
