Buying an Aventador - pls help

And where do you guys see fair valuations on SVs now and vs. in two years time?
you think something sub 10k mileage will hold up on value?
I guess lot depends on where the SVJ / SVJ roadster will trade while Revuelto makes way?
Assuming Revuelto comes around 550-600k new, SVJ variants will probably hold around 400-500k (?), that should leave SVs around 300-350k or lower? I guess lot depends on total no. of Revueltos that will be produced too - maybe 1k?
I can't see how SVJs and rest would continue to go up higher - why would they? I've seen two SVJs coups get marked down from 440k to 415k in the past 3 months.. has the downtrend started?
Really appreciate your views on prices. Obiously lot depends on the specifc options etc. too but let's take the average model.
Thank you.

Not on your nelly would i drive mine in a city regularly, the gearbox would be a nightmare! none of the models are any different in this respect, even with the updates on later models.
You really need to drive one for an extended time as they’re very old school in their approach, i wouldnt be buying one as a first supercar tbh, after driving one early on i decided i would wait until i had other cars in place that i enjoyed already.
For me, the days that the Aventador is appropriate or me being in the right mood for it, are few and far between, it is such a niche supercar, its like an old school supercar with futuristic looks, half its appeal (if not more) is looking at it in the garage, the other half is hearing the V12, a very small part is enjoying how it drives! though i do like the gearbox as its like driving a manual as you need technique.
Really really think about this and test properly, in town if you can, before you buy.
Oh, avoid a certain lambo specialist in the south that specialises in imported cars.

in terms of regularly driving in the city, I'm not looking to drive daily. maybe max 1 times a week for 1-2 hours. is that too much? You really need to drive one for an extended time as they’re very old school in their approach, i wouldnt be buying one as a first supercar tbh, after driving one early on i decided i would wait until i had other cars in place that i enjoyed already.

and when you say imported cars I assume yo mean the one that has that blue SVJ (?) - why ? can you pls share your opinion. I haven't seen that dealer yet -but useful to know why avoid.
can you pls share at least 1 guess on valuation too?
thanks!!
I just want to add to your comments about london and Aventador and driving in the city.
I visited several garages for secure parking this week - I genuinely think you'd be shocked how many Aventadors there are in London - securely parked for whoever. I guess they all come out in the summer. Honestly I can firmly say there are more Aventadors in London than the rest of the country. there are multiple ones in each of these garages, ignoring the private garage of properties in SW1, SW7.

I’m sure there are, most Aventadors are stored, some are probably there for the Knightsbridge crawls which is what some like to do, AVs are great for attracting attention if that’s your thing.I visited several garages for secure parking this week - I genuinely think you'd be shocked how many Aventadors there are in London - securely parked for whoever. Doesn’t change the fact they’re not good to drive round town, guessing the pain is worth the attention for some.
It’d take you an hour to get to decent driving roads from london, no?

I get your point about half looks and half engine, and how it’s a difficult car to drive, but I think that’s what makes it special and unique. If it drove like an R8 you would soon be bored of it. And no supercar remains “super” if driven every day - loses that specialness. You really need to drive one for an extended time as they’re very old school in their approach, i wouldnt be buying one as a first supercar tbh, after driving one early on i decided i would wait until i had other cars in place that i enjoyed already.

Most of those are owned by foreign playboys who fly in, drive four laps around Harrods revving loudly, do some coke and hookers then go home. Rinse and repeat twice a year.I visited several garages for secure parking this week - I genuinely think you'd be shocked how many Aventadors there are in London - securely parked for whoever. Ive driven the countach, diablo & murci and that same ‘Lambo bull’ is ever pressent in the Av but its more reliable (all relative mind)
I was just saying its very different to other supercars, the absolute opposite is my 720, it is sooo useable, comfortable and devastatingly quick but would be sold without looking back and waaay before the GTR & Aventador, even tho it came first..
Driving in London in any Aventador variant is a pita and not fun especially in stop and go traffic. The only way to save the clutch is to put the car in N at literally every light or else you're going to wear through the clutch fast.
These cars are meant for open road driving, not stop and go traffic which is another reason why low mileage, only city driven cars might have more issues than a car that has higher mileage but spent most of it's time driven on the motorway.

Hi all,
So I had an aventador sent to a lambo main dealer for a health check.
The clutch reading came in at 14mm. With them advising a full replacement at 7mm. ! How is this even possible?
How serious do you view this? The car has done less than 10k mileage. how is this possible? was it launched multiple times?
Is replacing the clutch ok gie you full comfort - or has it possibly done more damage to the gearbox etc at all?
Would you advise replacing the clutch or would you pass on the car altogether?
Appreciate any feedback.
Thank you!

Sorry what do you mean?
the current clutch reads 14mm.
it doesn't have a new clutch. Although the current one can be replaced.
As in when you buy an Aventador new, what is the clutch reading? So you can compare your 14mm reading with a new car and how much wear your car currently has (from new).the current clutch reads 14mm.

Ok got it.. I don't know EXACTLY where the reading comes in brand new - but other cars that are generally fresh in good condition maybe with 1-2k mileage have a clutch wear reading of 1.1mm to 1.6mm.. For an aventador I was told when it reached 7mm it needs to be replaced.
to be clear the health check report states the clutch WEAR reading 14mm.. how is this possible?
I hope this helps.
Any thoughts?
