Hi there,
Spotted a Red Lamborghini Countach Anniversary (no rear wing) this morning around 9:05am on the A50 from Holmes Chapel to Knutsford.
No photo as the memory on my iphone was full so wouldn't open camera and the memory card on my dahs cam had crashed (flippin technology).
Reg plate was HOG40, driver must have been just giving the car a run as he went up to the Whipping Stocks pub before turning round and heading back to Holmes Chapel.
Awesome car and certainly brightened up a damp Monday.
Seems odd that it was only registered last year though. Correct engine size so perhaps one from a collection rather than a kit car
Regards
Tim

It's fair to say I absolutely fell in love with the red/gold 5000S, the colour combo was perfect.

Am hoping that one or two Lamborghini owners might attend the Thoresby classic car show later this month on bank holiday Monday (31st August) if the weather is good. This show has to be one of the biggest meets in the county with a staggering array of cars to drool over.
Thanks Rich.
I only really go to Silverstone these days, don't get the chance to get to other shows. Last time I saw a good Countach outing outside of Silverstone was a local Italian Car day in Essex but think that was 2007 now! It turned out to be a one off event and there are pictures on my Flickr account if you want to see.
I recommend you try getting along to the Silverstone Classic next year if you want to see some.
Other than that, there is the Brooklands Auto Italia Day held in May, I think a few CTs show up at that too.
Cheers

Just returned from Sant'agata, well worth visiting if you're in northern Italy.
If you're not you can take a virtual tour around instead https://www.google.co.uk/maps/place/Museo+Lamborgh...

They all look fantastic but I have a real thing for the early cars!
The original LP400 was certainly very pure in its design, and the later LP400S low body was in my opinion one of the best of the newer Pirelli P7 'flared' generation, the LP500S kind of expanded in girth to cope with the increased horse-power and larger US based customers, whilst the 25th Anniversary Edition went large in every way, not my favourite but possibly one of the best quality controlled models - was tempted to type QC but though it might confuse the issue! In terms of which is faster, I remember back in the 1980s Mike Pullen in his LP400S beating an owner driving a far more powerful LP500S Countach around Goodwood. Unfortunately I didn't have a video camera on that fateful day, though I did record a white Countach spinning off at the Goodwood chicane some time later which was mighty impressive to watch.
When you see a low body Countach for the first time it may strike you as being somewhat compact because it is so wide, so short, and so low, rather than that of a look-at-me, big, fat and flabby modern day sports cars, then you appreciate just why it is so fast and nimble on its feet.

Ha I remember that. I recall at the time he was offering services to supercharge Countach engines (no idea if anyone took him up on that) and because of the turn of speed he seemed to have, I had to phone him up and ask if he has supercharged his car. He said no, so I just complimented him on his driving. I suspect his engine was a very nicely built and strong one though. Also in fairness it is also somewhat down to driver capabilities but I do also recall on the odd occasion Mike would dive through the chicane barriers to get ahead. Fun days.
