White white LHD

(a US spec non-carb car)

I’d link to it if they had a website (odd in this day and age)
This one?

Yes sorry meant white / Black

Pretty poor website and advert - it also doesn’t mention it’s a non-carb model with about 70bhp less

Something odd about their website - all the links take me to this page

I'd say it isn't the most desirable. Of QVs it is the least desirable.
Those federal crash bumpers are disliked. Many US cars are being converted to 'euro' look now that the cars are old enough not to have to comply with certain regulations.
Furthermore the injection is again very much the poor relation to the carb'ed cars. It was a need to comply to sell cars in the US, rather than the factory's desire to improve upon the current model.

But that said, it does mean a much cheaper route into Countach ownership I guess!

totally agree, I was just wondering whether 280 (or even 250 if you haggle hard) makes it decent value (not sure I see the point although it was well finished at first sight)

Macari has one up for 350 although it looks much nicer and has a proper history
https://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds/used-cars/...

although carb QV anniversaries seem to be around for 350

prices seem all over the place, understandable for such a small supply I guess

Still miss this car badly after spending two years rebuilding it, to think I was called mad when it was for sale for £55k.... lol. To think I bought it for £32k with a smoky engine and needing some paint, I didn't know where to stop in the end. It held a soft spot for me as I'd seen it in a road test during my impressionable years (last picture from the 1985 road test)

My old car, lovely to see these pictures of it again.

Was in Chelsea Cars this weekend and they have a US spec fuel injection Countach for sale for £280k but open to offers.

Are these desirable?

Looked in good nick with a big recent refurb but no history which would put most off.

Power quite a bit down on Euro QV and cant say I’m a fan of the US front bumper and anniversary rear panels
red RHD with cream leather by any chance ?
That one is up for sale for for £350,000 at Woodham Mortimer (JD Classics before they went into liquidation), it's a 1988 Lamborghini Countach 5000 QV RHD, reg number A7 CMJ, apparently purchased at some point by a Mr Beard wink

Have to say it's a lovely looking car and if I had the money would buy it tomorrow. Link to the advert is: https://woodham-mortimer.com/Cars/For-Sale/1988-La...

Very late I know, but I am fairly sure this car once belonged to Martin Hines of Zip Kart fame. Martin sadly passed away a few years back, top guy.

Few questions from someone looking to dip his toe into the world of Countach:

1. Is the LHD blue 5000S currently for sale at Sports Classics London (and previously for sale at DD) known to anyone?

2. Who do people use for service work in London/S East? I am aware of Colin Clarke Engineering but I assume there are others;

3. Two UK RHD black 5000S have been for sale for a while at tiny mileages but very strong money. Am I right to be nervous of 35 year old Countach that have barely turned a wheel?

Thanks!

1. Don’t know
2. Mike Pullen at Carrera Sport in Haywards Heath
3. If it all works, I wouldn’t be. (I’ve owned my 5000s for >25 years; they are just magic cars.)

Personally I wouldn’t pay extra for low miles, if you’re planning to use it.
You’ll lose the mileage premium, and chances are you’ll have to spend a lot to “recommission”
I have a 400S which had lots of work done prior to my purchase, but still a rolling programme of replacements and upkeep.

I fitted a set on mine last month. Not had a chance to drove much, but first time I've had 205s on the front instead of 215 and does feel better (as well as P7 looking cool!)
