Anyone remember the Duluxe flesh coloured 5000S with it's colour coded wheels reg no ELN238Y, that got painted black
I saw that car at Castle Combe on one of those 'Supercar Test Days'.It was the first Lamborghini I ever sat in, which absolutely made my day!
That was when the owner told me that he'd taken a Dulux brochure to Lamborghini and had the car painted to match his garage door!
The car was for sale at the time for £135k.
remain one of life's great mysteries.

I can't remember if I've posted this car before but I've never seen another in this colur.
Light metallic green with dark red interior.
September 1988.
Another unique colour, never seen the car anywhere, what i can see i quite like , looks similar to the DB 4/5 and Interceptor sage green.Light metallic green with dark red interior.

Wonder if it's still in that colour,
Referring to the same two photo's of the white Countach in Portman's showroom window ,probably is the same car but maybe
not on the same day unless anyone with good eye site can catch the reflection of the the Escort convertible which you can just
see the rear of on the opposite side of the road. Sorry maybe getting to anoraky now.

My only other three photos from my one and only visit to Heathman's, I guess I ran out of camera film,
August 1987.
That’s me standing in the picture by the Maserati Ghibli!! David had popped out to collect a car and asked me to look after the showroom for an hour and answer the phone. Yikes!! I was only a youngster! But I remember that day! Brilliant picture, however, unfortunately the hair has gone but the belly hasn’t! Fortunately the jacket has LOL!!!! This is really brilliant.

Must agree ,i loved that car in pink ,not so keen on the silver bits ,For some reason i seem to remember it wearing V12
Jaguar badges, but could be wrong on that.
,
It was "Wheelhouse in Nottingham that painted it white and believe it now lives in Australia ,
Remember passing there when on my way home from a trip to the north and saw it in their showroom.
I test drove this car before buying my boring black/black one. I turned up in a 928 S4 with a mate in tow. They simply threw me the keys and said go have some fun. It was spitting with rain and as soon as I put the wiper on the blade flew off so we had to park up in a B&Q car park to clip it back on!! Can't see that happening these days.Jaguar badges, but could be wrong on that.

Hi
ELN238Y is indeed in Australia, it looks black, but is in fact navy blue and retains the original "tabacco" interior. The colour was called "avorio rosa" - literally "ivory pink", but sand, beige, flesh-coloured, apricot - not the most flattering colour to describe, but looked good back in the day at the LCUK events
The pink-now-white car was sold by Ton Hartley (not Junior) a few weeks ago to a new owner. I'm hoping they return it to pink as well! I read somewhere that the silver bits were added by Geoff White the owner using a can of Halfords spray paint!

I hope so, I quite like it.Wonder if it's still in that colour,
This is the only other photo I have of that car.
the right exterior colour , There was a red with red interior Countach 5000S around for years,
that just didn't look right, much to much red , believed it was involved in a bad accident on the way back from a club meet
some years ago..

Nothing boring about black with black if you don't mind a lot of polishing, Yes your right that wouldn't happen today unless amass produced car then they will lend it to you for a week. Great story about the wiper , must have caused a stir at B&Q.

Presumably more cost effective than repainting his garage door.
Was told the story about the Dulux card and selling the house and living in a caravan when the car was almost new,

PORTMAN Lamborghini
108 George Street, in central London - just off Portman Square. UK Lamborghini concessionaire from the 1970s for Countach LP400 etc all the way up to Diablos in the 1990s before going out of business.
Portman also had a service centre in Brentford.
The "showroom" in London looked like this outside - it was literally a shop front:
Inside was completely crammed - four cars together in a square with a fifth at the back was the maximum:
There was a back door out of the showroom into a private car park, where there tended to be a few more cars:

And don't forget the extremely dodgy restaurant next door. Mainly closed unless 'by appointment'.
Did you ever eat there, May have got this muddled up with somewhere else but was there a Lancia specialist somewhere near,Seem to remember a couple of Integrale's in a shop window in George Street.
