Did you ever eat there, May have got this muddled up with somewhere else but was there a Lancia specialist somewhere near,
Seem to remember a couple of Integrale's in a shop window in George Street.
I would have tried it but it was never open, windows always dark. However I passed as recently as three years ago and it was still there, same look outside, dark windows and wood panelling. Unchanged since the 80's but it's gone now.Seem to remember a couple of Integrale's in a shop window in George Street.
Yes the Mitsubishi/Lancia place was two doors further down from Portmans if you were walking towards Baker Street, same side of the street. Also a 'shopfront' albeit room to swing a few cats rather than just one.

Before that for sale at 911 Virgin for £ 29K, It was Henry's personal car but been bitten by the boat bug.
Mike Pullen showed me photo's of the of the car damaged after the accident, a bit of a mess but was told they repaired
it without any new panels.
Not sure whether Henry had the car before or after the repair,
Thanks for the info , I'm sure i saw it advertised the other day but didn't recognise it because of the colour change.

Hi
ELN238Y is indeed in Australia, it looks black, but is in fact navy blue and retains the original "tabacco" interior. The colour was called "avorio rosa" - literally "ivory pink", but sand, beige, flesh-coloured, apricot - not the most flattering colour to describe, but looked good back in the day at the LCUK events
The pink-now-white car was sold by Ton Hartley (not Junior) a few weeks ago to a new owner. I'm hoping they return it to pink as well! I read somewhere that the silver bits were added by Geoff White the owner using a can of Halfords spray paint!

Wonder if the current owners of the new Lamborghini's today will be able to recollect most of the cars after nearly 40 years.
I doubt it, the passion and mystique isn't quite the same as the early cars.
That Geoff White must have been a bit of a character as was most owners then, firstly ordering in pink , was told that his wife was
wearing a blue denim skirt when he ordered the car and he chose the blue interior to match the skirt, not sure if that's true or another
Lamborghini wives tale, Halfords spray paint, Lovely

Anyone remember the Garage on the Green? I went there for a look around when I was in London for an interview with BA in the late 90s. They let me have a sit in a Birdcage Maserati racing car which was cool. They had a Mugen NSX with fancy teledial style wheels. I’ve never heard of one of the these since.
Yes i remember it well, A real eclectic mix of super, classic, and race cars , Was always on my list of garages to visit when visiting London,Much easier to park then ,not having your car towed away within two minutes after parking, even with the hazards left on.
Would drop the wife off in Oxford Street or the Kings Road taking the credit card with her, but worth every penny just to let
me loose on my garage tours, sad really but my excuse was i don't drink, smoke ,gamble or chase other woman so she let me get on with it.

That's a little unfair though since there is a completely different order of production numbers for Lamborghinis today compared with 40 years ago. You would almost never see a Countach or Miura on the road 40 years ago because there were only a handful in the country - in fact, I'm not sure I've ever seen a Miura except at or en-route to a car event. With a Gallardo or a Huracan, there's a fair chance of seeing one every day if you're in the right part of the world. Nah, we remember them because they were pant wettingly, in your face special! LOL! Yes they were rarer but it was more than that, I don’t recall Ferrari in that era say testrossas in the same way and you hardly saw those. EHF1 was about the only one I can remember........

All stories never seem to be the same but always similar ,doesn't really matter it's the mystique of the brand that always comes over.Crazy we should still be talking about the cars and owners after 35 years or more,
Although i've owned a lot more Ferrari's than Lamborghini's their's not the interaction like this,
Yes there's Ferrari Chat and Club Scuderia but mainly for later cars rather than the older ones.
Sorry ,you can tell i've been bored today, i've never made so many post's in one day,

You have a point depending where you live, never see a Lamborghini where i live, a Gallardo would be a event where in Sloane Streetit wouldn't get noticed amongst the sea of Hurricane's and Aventador's.

Geoff said on Twitter a while back that it was matched against her pink belt. The blue was her jeans. As mentioned Geoff added the grey later with a spray can. Rock and roll!

I can't remember if I've posted this car before but I've never seen another in this colur.
Light metallic green with dark red interior.
September 1988.
Another unique colour, never seen the car anywhere, what i can see i quite like , looks similar to the DB 4/5 and Interceptor sage green.Light metallic green with dark red interior.
September 1988.
Wonder if it's still in that colour,
Referring to the same two photo's of the white Countach in Portman's showroom window ,probably is the same car but maybe
not on the same day unless anyone with good eye site can catch the reflection of the the Escort convertible which you can just
see the rear of on the opposite side of the road. Sorry maybe getting to anoraky now.
Go anoraky - that's part of what this thread is about!

Must agree ,i loved that car in pink ,not so keen on the silver bits ,For some reason i seem to remember it wearing V12
Jaguar badges, but could be wrong on that.
,
It was "Wheelhouse in Nottingham that painted it white and believe it now lives in Australia ,
Remember passing there when on my way home from a trip to the north and saw it in their showroom.
I test drove this car before buying my boring black/black one. I turned up in a 928 S4 with a mate in tow. They simply threw me the keys and said go have some fun. It was spitting with rain and as soon as I put the wiper on the blade flew off so we had to park up in a B&Q car park to clip it back on!! Can't see that happening these days.Jaguar badges, but could be wrong on that.

There are quite a few Countachs that had accidents but soon gets forgotten.... including the black/black/red QV that was pranged by its original owner badly enough that he sold it after it was repaired as it was never quite the same again....

Hi - I got the following from Geoff White in a message: "pink belt blue denim". The story goes that he ordered a pink with blue Jalpa for her at the same time, but it was cancelled as they split up. snapper seven said:

I can't imagine anyone getting busy with an aerosol can of paint on a Countach, he sounds like quite a character!
