Great aerial view of Talacrest in Egham, remember when on my visits to Maranello's showroom back in the 80's i would then gohttps://supercarnostalgia.com/blog/london-classic-...
to Talacrest and press my nose and hands on their showroom window , all those 250SWB's, 275GTB's even GTO's made Maranello's
stock seem quite plain.

When Modena closed the stock was kept in one of Harrods store rooms ,the market crashed and they were left holding some
very expensive stock, the cars went into storage hoping the market would bounce back ,with their money they could afford to wait.
They were a nice lot at Maranello's ,proper gentlemen ,Did speak to Shaun a few times but mainly dealt with Mark Konig,
Alan Mapp, Richard Hacket and Paul Baber ,It was like a second home until the Colonel died and it all went to pot and got sold
to Inchcape ,Felt totally underdressed when they revamped the showroom and all the old faces gradually disappeared including Mark.
Hay Ho !! can't live in the past can we, but i try,

I would walk often spend a lunch hour walking round to the Thorpe industrial estate to see what Portman (servicing?) had parked up
When Portman went out of business in the early 90's a guy called John Chappell took over the Lamborghini importing, not sure if DavidI would walk often spend a lunch hour walking round to the Thorpe industrial estate to see what Portman (servicing?) had parked up
Joliffe the former director of Portman was involved or not.,John being a Porsche specilist would service my 911 Turbo at his
unit in Thorpe industrial park almost opposite Maranello's Workshop , He said i was the only customer to take him up on his offer of the 2CV
loan car his other customers preferring to catch a train, Saw John a few times at Mike Pullens track days at Goodwood but lost
touch with him ,I assume this must have been the workshop that you use to visit in your lunch breaks as the previous one was in Brentford.
It never gets boring looking round these sort of places ,more like an adventure no matter how often you go there, a far cry from places like
the main dealer network we have today.

This was my first job out of university, earning £12k and driving a leaky Golf, so a lunch hour looking at cars that used to be on my wall a few years before was incredible, as you say Maranello servicing (in a rather grander building) also there, along with their showroom and Talacrest down the road made for a young car nuts dream

Only personal opinion interior is awful but can be changed at a price, not keen on the red/black and the centre consol lookshttps://www.countach-register.com/find-a-countach-...

like the material is a bad fit , The sides being pucked up.
Think it was the QV that was fiitted with injection on the USA cars ,is the Webbers the original factory items or converted from injection.
Regarding the colour change i wouldn't worry to much about that as long as it's done well,Looks good in white very Miami Vice.
Mine had two colour changes over the years.
At that price point is there not a UK spec one around with a more traceable history or are they drying up.

I agree, the interior looks awful, like a bad kit car. The leather should be tight, and that looks quite baggy.
I don't think the S ever had fuel injection, even in the US, but that car has an engine cover from a later fuel-injected QV.
Sure there were, 37 officially builtI don't think the S ever had fuel injection, even in the US, but that car has an engine cover from a later fuel-injected QV.

They used two Bosch injections from a 6Cylinder Mercedes, the setup was developed by the famous Rarewala/Trevor Importers and simply taken over by the factory who had no clue how to match the strict californian emission laws.
Definitely the engine lid is wrong, all LP500s had the flat engine lid from LP400s-end of LP5000s.
The one installed was exclusively for the injected quattrovalvole engines.

to injection before being allowed registration in those States .
Could be the reason it has a QV bonnet ,then converted back to Webbers again without fitting the original back on
probably because it is long gone,
Retrim ,repaint and probably early patching service history ,sure you could get better especially with winter aproaching.
Ok at a price but not at that asking figure unless since the the restoration Countach at Historics making such silly money prices have gone up.,
