What’s a clutch replacement on a Countach these days, if it’s ok to ask, £5k?

An owner gave me a sound piece of advice years ago, that you need to use a Countach clutch like a switch - if you ever smell the clutch burning, it’s a very expensive smell!
It was used by me like a switch and there was no smell or warning. It happened at high speed down a straight. Initially I thought I had topped up with the incorrect type of fluid but that wasn't the case.

You went to a garage (albeit a very respectable one) and didn’t get a quote !?!?

The price of the clutch will depend on where it comes from. The labour is something else. While it's out I'm considering other work that will be quoted on.

Of course

Sorry for being nosey, just assumed it’s a case of “X for a clutch if we don’t find anything else” and the conversation extends from there

While outside my local chippy in the 400 S everyone came out to watch me

take off up the road including the cooks ,it completely emptied the shop

only to find it wouldn't fire, I was lucky there was so many of them to push it

out of harms way, how to go from hero to zero in minutes, rolleyes

The village were still talking about it a week later.

Was something to do with the ignition, Mike fixed that as well amougst other things

while it was there.

If you look at the photos in the Graham Turner link they show plenty of 'Pat & Tina' wink

Knowing my luck, if my numbers ever came up it'd be the week after the car sold!

Anything close to that’d be a new price point.
Haven’t seen those kinda values since 2014?

I photographed that one as part of the 2016 Countach meet. It was immaculate and the colour combo was fantastic. Congrats!

That reminds me of a similar failure to start in my Espada outside a wine bar, luckily I was with three friends who could give a push!
