Brilliant Martin, these are great. Love the shot of the gold Countach on track.
Just magic.

Look forward to more in good time.

Thanks for posting them.

Nice one. Love it when people spy themselves in these old photos. Lovely Esprit too. I have a soft spot for the old Giugiaro ones.

Right then, it's been a while but I have now scanned some 'non-Countach' Lambo photos. Many are from suupercar test days but some from car shows and specialst places.

Espada first. I was lucky enough to drive an Espada S3 when I was 18 years old so I am rather fond of these.

So I was lucky enough to grow up in Halstead, Essex which is home to Eurospares - the Ferrari, Lamborghini, Maserati spares specialists. I got to know the owners very well and, much to their frustrations I should imagine(!), I spent much of my summer holidays hanging around there so every now and again I got to see some nice cars drop by.

It's fair to say Eurospares has come along way now from its somewhat humble but charming beginnings.

This last one...sorry about the quality...was taken at the Portman Lamborghini service centre. It's S reg, so reckon 1978(?) and seems to have US rubber bumpers. Guess it must have been one of the last built??

That's it for Espadas for now folks. Onto Miuras.

Another Eurospares sighting. This was lovely and if my memory serves me well have Ferruccio Lamborghini's signature on the dash.
I guess I could and should clean the photos up one day but kind of like the feel of them.

A friend of mine had an Espada at the time and had Colin Clarke do some work on it. I was lucky enough to visit when the Espada was down there and snapped a few nice cars. It was quite an Aladdin's cave.

Robin - that photo would have been taken around 1990/1991. The blue Espada is my friend's one that we went to see, as it was having its engine rebuilt.

Robert - alas I don't recall any Countaches at Colin's on that visit. Sure I would've taken photos if I had and I don't recall Colin asking me not to take photos of certain cars.

A favourite of mine! The LM002!

Interestingly the guysitting in the driver's seat was Howard Lees - who sadly died six years later in a stunt plane accident - he had the LM as he was road testng it for Autocar. The road test appeared in one of the November 87 . Still have the mag.

Some V8s now.

Wish I took more of these but my camera always seemed to be trained on the Countach!

Right then, this Urraco is a bit special for me. It was owned by Vince Pumo, who owned Eurospares.
As mentioned earlier, I grew up in the same town and would sometimes see this car when I was doing my paper round in the mid eighties. Vince was an early riser!
I tried to blag a ride in it in the mornings (even though it meant a trek back to the newsagent) but Vince wasn't having any of it. I got to know Vince later on but he didn't have the car then sadly.

James Pumo recently told me that it was sold to Hendon Way Motors in the late Eighties and hasn't seen or heard of it since.

If anyone knows it's whereabouts I loved to know more!

I loved the Silhouette spoiler too.

Ha is that you then Dave?

Yes I shared that snap, and another I had of Mike, with him on Twitter. He correctly guessed the location and year.

Good investigation!
I'm the same. Would be great to know where some of these cars are now.

Real shame to see that the black Silhouette has not been on the road for decades.

With some of the lesser models it's not beyond the realms of possibility that they have gone to the great scrap dealer in the sky. I've seen a couple at Eurospares being dismantled that I saw a long long time ago.

Fantastic stories and photos Rob, thanks for sharing!!!!
Funnily enough, as the original poster of this thread, I was born in October 1973.
Sounds like you had some great times.

Please do share more if you have them.

I believe it's the one with Simon Furlonger. As I think I have already said, it's shame what they have done with the interior with its modern matt black leather. Original interiors were much mor shiny.
Much prefer the red one with Cheshire classic cars.

So I was rummaging around in the loft and found some old videos. Having looked through the videos I found an old Top Gear feature with VBH driving a 5000S Countach and Tiff in a Testarossa.

Long story short, I've uploaded it to Youtube.

ps i have also found some old video from a supercar test day too and will get that uploaded too at some point.
